Springs sport athletes will have to wait another two weeks before seeing the field in 2020.
Tuesday afternoon, the Idaho High School Activities Association announced it would postpone spring athletics until April 20, 15 after the planned April 5 return. With every day marking an increase in reported COVID-19 cases in Idaho, the IHSAA said all activities and athletics will continue to be shutdown.
"The IHSAA will continue to monitor and align with any future recommendations that come from the Idaho SBOE and Governor Little's office," the IHSAA announced. "Our office staff is continuing to work on potential contingency plans for any upcoming spring events that may occur."
The date aligns with the "soft closure" of schools across the state by the Idaho State Board of Education which was announced earlier this month.
IdahoSports.com will continue to provide updates on the suspension of athletics.
