After multiple cases of COVID-19, caused by coronavirus, were discovered in the state of Washington, the Idaho High School Activities Association released a statement assuring this year's state tournaments will commence as planned.
According to the release, the 2020 boys basketball, debate, cheer and dance championships will have no changes in scheduling.
"IHSAA staff is in communication with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and the Idaho Department of Education and will continue to receive guidance regarding our upcoming state events," according to the release.
Fans attending this year's state championships are encouraged to follow the Centers for Disease Control's Prevention Guidelines if they plan on attending.
According to the IHSAA, fans should not attend this year's events if they have a cough, fever or feel sick. Those attending should also wash their hands frequently to prevent the spread of germs. A full breakdown of the IHSAA's recommendations can be found below.
