Offensive strengths/areas for improvement:
We are returning every starter at our skill positions. As a group, they had over 1,400 yards rushing and 1,100 yards receiving last season.
Defensive strengths/areas for improvement:
We will have a solid group of returning starters. Michael Crane ended with 82 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 interceptions last season. Ross Arellano had 56 tackles and 4 interceptions. Gabe Arevelo had 32 tackles and 4 interceptions. Justin Solosabal had 22 tackles and 2 sacks. Finally, Terry Jacobsen had 61 tackles and 1 interception.
Special team Strengths:
Gabe Arevelo, an All-Conference kicker, is returning. Gabe had 13 PATs and five field goals last season.
Offensive Outlook:
Our offense should be fun to watch. We have a great group of senior skill players who all have big play capabilities. The question will be how quickly our line will develop. We lost every starting lineman from last year's team. If the newcomers buy into our system and catch on to the offense quickly, we could score a lot of points.
Defensive Outlook:
We have a solid core of returning players. They are very athletic and natural athletes. Hopefully, we can improve on defense this year and keep the other teams from outscoring us.
Conference Outlook:
Declo is coming off of a great season. They are going to be a very solid team again next year. Valley will also be very tough. They are very well coached and are always ready to play.
Coach's Team Summary:
Despite our record, our team was playing well at the end of the season. We won the Conference Champtionship and advanced to the playoffs. I think they are excited about the upcoming season and will work hard in the offseason to get ready to play.
