Key Players Lost: QB Keith Mowery, RB Jordan Lancaster, WR/DE Justin Brandsma
Offensive strengths/areas for improvement: We only lost one player from our offensive line. Last year we started 2 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 senior, none of whom had played varsity the year before. We should have a lot more experience and strength in the front line.
Defensive strengths/areas for improvement: We lost a lot of our speed at linebacker and defensive back, but we will have a much improved and more experienced defensive front.
Offensive Outlook: We should be able to maintain a more balanced offensive attack with our older, more experienced line. Our throwing game will depend on the development of our quarterbacks, but they will still have some worthy targets on the outside, including WR Nathan Ormond (6-4, 190), who is very athletic and won the high jump and triple jump for the 3A SCIC this season.
Conference Outlook: We compete in a very tough conference with Kimberly and Buhl obviously the ones to look towards. I also think that Gooding has a lot of talent left, and it will be interesting to see what their new coach does with a talented group of athletes.
Coach's Team Summary: We're looking forward to seeing our kids play with more experience and confidence. We did lose a good group of seniors, but we have a great group returning, most of whom have a lot of varsity experience that they did not have last season.
