Key Players Lost: Preston Minter, Tyler Knight, Madison Mangum, Andrew Church, Cam Olson, Kyle Sutton
Incoming JV Players: Serafin Camacho, Cooper Harris, Joel Sather, Nik Edens, Ryan Edens, Casey Persons, Ryan Tate, Ryan Humphrey
Offensive strengths/areas for improvement: Proficient Passing Offense with returning QB Speed at the receiver position Three returning starting lineman Need to run the football more consistently
Defensive strengths/areas for improvement: Speed at LB/DB Good incoming JV player will give more depth than previous season Need to be more physical in stopping the run and eliminate big plays
Special team Strengths: Returning kicker with an excellent leg (Dan Goodale) two years of previous experience. Need to improve in the return game to set up the offense in better field position.
Offensive Outlook: Dan Goodale is the top returning receever with 42 catches from last year. Serafin Camacho and Cooper Harris will look to work into the tailback position. Many young receivers will compete for starting positions. Tanner Mangum returns at QB and will lead Timberline's spread offense.
Defensive Outlook: Only three returning starters, but a solid group of younger players will give the defense great speed and depth. Look to have an aggressive group that will improve the defense from last season.
Conference Outlook: Many all-conferece players are gone, so the conference should be wide open again. I think every team in our pod will be solid and the competition should be must like last season with everyone having a chance right up into the final week of the season.
Coach's Team Outlook: We have to replace some explosive, talented players from the 08 senior class, but the JV group was solid at 5-3 last year and the incoming sophomore class is also very talented. I look for continued improvement in the football program for Timberline in the future.
Coach's Team Summary: Timberline has posted only two winning seasons in 11 years and has never won a playoff game. The 2009 squad looks to build on last years competitive season and get over the hump, accomplishing new highs for Timberline Football.
