2A Boys Friday Game Recaps
A brief recap of the Friday games at the 2A Boys 'Real Dairy Shootout'.
Published: 3/5/2016 1:31:35 AM

In a tale of two drastically different games, Firth dominated its way to the 2A Real Dairy Shootout championship game while West Side had to rally from a 15-point deficit to earn its spot.

After a sluggish first period, Firth exploded for 20, second-quarter points en route to a 58-26 win over St. Maries.  The Lumberjacks shot just 20 percent for the game and did not have an answer for Firth's Conner Burkhart, who finished the game with 21 points and ten rebounds for the Cougars.

In the other semifinal, West Side had to rally from a 15-point, second-quarter deficit to defeat Wendell, 57-45, at Capital High School.  The Trojans shot 44 percent in the first half but just 18 percent in the second as West Side turned up the intensity.  Judd Ward led West Side wit 19 points and Peyton Brown had 14.  Logan Bowers had 20 for Wendell.

Melba and Soda Springs took care of business in the consolation round to earn a spot against one another in the 2A consolation final on Saturday morning.  Melba beat West Jefferson, 57-47, and Soda Springs started fast and held off Nampa Christian, 50-38.
