4A Girls Semi-Final Game Recaps
A look at all the games played at the Timberline High School on Friday
Published: 2/20/2016 1:19:15 AM

BISHOP KELLY 52, MINICO 50:  Gabi Harrington's three-point play with just over a minute to go gave Bishop Kelly the lead and steals from Harrington and Aubree Chatterton in the final 15 secodns kept Minico from ever getting a final shot at the hoop as the Knights advanced to Saturday's 4A state championship game.

Harrington finished the game with 28 points and eight rebounds, but missed three of four free throws in the final 20 seconds to give Minico a chance.

Minico came out blistering hot and led by nine points in the second quarter before the Knights rallied to tie, setting up a see-saw second half in front of a packed gym at Timberline High School.

Lydia Nieto added 12 points for Bishop Kelly.  Minico got 16 points from Jillian Gilchrist and 14 points from Macie Merrill in a wild, back-and-forth battle.  Minico out-rebounded the Knights, 37-25, but committed 19 turnovers, which Bishop Kelly turned in to 16 points.

Minico will face Sandpoint in the 3rd-place game on Saturday at Timberline.

CENTURY 41, SANDPOINT 28:  The Diamondbacks put themselves in position for a repeat championship in the 4A classification with the comfortable win over Sandpoint.

After the two teams exchanged three ties and two lead changes in the opening quarter, Century pulled out to an eight-point halftime lead before outscoring the Bulldogs, 15-6, in the third quarter to take control.  Sandpoint tried to push back in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too large.

Katie Hiller had 10 points and four rebounds for Century, which also got eight points from Kaitlyn Christensen and Emily Packham.  Madison Schoening (11) and Grace Kirscher (10) combined for 21 of Sandpoint's 28 points as the team shot just 17 percent from the field (7/41) for the game.

Century will face Bishop Kelly in the 4A State Championship game Saturday at the Idaho Center in Nampa.

BURLEY 48, KUNA 33:  The Bobcats started each half strong, out-scoring Kuna, 28-8 in the first and third quarters, to advance to Saturday's 4A Consolation final.

Kourtney Hutchison had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win for Burley.  The Bobcats also got 15 points from Sydney Pilling.

Defensively, the Bobcats did a good job containing Kuna's leading scorer, Alison Law, who was held to eight points on just 3/5 shooting from the floor.  Kuna struggled from the field, shooting just 24.5 percent (12/49) for the game, including just 1/15 from three-point range as the Kavemen were unable to pull off a wild, fourth-quarter rally to keep its season alive.

Burley out-rebounded Kuna, 36-27, for the game.

RIGBY 26, CALDWELL 25:  Kaitlyn Bell's two free throws with 13 seconds left gave Rigby the lead and the Trojans forced a Caldwell turnover with less than five seconds left to beat the Cougars.

Both teams struggled shooting the basketball, but Caldwell hurt itself by going just 8/41 from the floor.  The Cougars were able to help their cause, however, by picking up 17 offensive rebounds but they could not convert enough into points to extend their season.

Bell and Caldwell's Jalen Callender tied for game-high scoring honors with seven points apiece.  Rigby was credited with nine assists on ten made field goals in the game with Macady Boyce leading the way with four helpers for the Trojans.

Rigby will meet Burley in the 4A consolation final on Saturday at 9:15 AM at Timberline High School.
