NIC Press Release:

North Idaho College Athletics Director Al Williams confirmed Tuesday that NIC Men’s Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay has accepted an offer to become the men’s basketball head coach at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

“We'll miss Coach Phay more than you can imagine” Williams said. “Jared was more than our head coach, he's family. I wish Jared all the best. He'll always be a Cardinal to us.”

A search for Phay’s replacement will begin immediately according to Williams.

Phay was the head coach at NIC for 10 seasons, winning Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) titles in 2006, 2009 and 2010. He was named SWAC Coach of the Year three different times and his 2010-11 team was the first in NIC school history to reach a national No.1 ranking.

“We are looking forward to the next chapter in NIC's athletic history in the NWAAC,” Williams said. “We have a long history of excellence and the next head coach of the Cardinals will be expected to add to that legacy.”
