Since 2008 we have tried several different ways to bring you, the fans, state-wide sport previews. From printed magazines to online magazines. Each project was a learning experience.
In the past our team previews have always been limited to football and basketball, with a few general sport previews thrown in for soccer, volleyball and wrestling at times. Our new system allows us to do individual team previews for more sports - like wrestling, soccer and volleyball - but it also allows for new sports like baseball and softball.
The key to the success of this new formula will be how willing the coaches are to participate. We have been contacting, and recontacting, boys and girls basketball coaches for the past few weeks reminding them to return their team preview forms to us as soon as they can. As of today, we have about 90 girls basketball forms and 82 for boys basketball. We have only heard back from 19 wrestling coaches so far.
The great part about this new system is that we can add previews one at a time, after the deadline, for any coaches that turn in their forms late.
