DAY ONE RECAPS

6A Semi-Finals | Boise 39, Madison 35 (OT)

No. 2 seeded Boise punched their ticket to the 6A girls state championship tomorrow with a victory over No. 6 seeded Madison. 

The Brave trailed the Bobcats 15-22 at halftime, but a +9 point advantage in the third quarter gave the Brave a two point lead heading into the 4th quarter, and they were able to hold on for a four-point victory. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Libby Nelson was one rebound shy of a double-double and added 10 points and two blocks. Avery Patricco led the way for the Brave in scoring with 12, and Kaity Haan also cracked double figures with 10 of her own. 

Torey Parker was Madison’s lone player in double figures leading the way for the Bobcats with 10 points. Nora Waddoups, Mia Walsh, and Camri Call added 6 points each as well.

6A Semi-Finals | Owyhee 61, Coeur d’Alene 58 (OT)

No. 1 seeded Owyhee was able to battle back to force overtime after trailing by seven going into the fourth quarter. In OT, they were able to punch their ticket to the 6A Girls State Championship defeating No. 5 Coeur d’Alene. 

This game featured 8 lead changes and 11 ties, with the largest lead being eight in favor of the Vikings. The Storm were able to force 18 turnovers, while only committing 9 of their own. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Josie Davis had 20 points and 5 rebounds while going 50% from the field. Riley Beck added 16 points and 7 boards for the Storm. 

The Vikings were led by 36 points from Brookslee Colvin who shot 6/8 on 2’s, 5/8 from beyond the arc, and 9/11 from the free throw line. Natalie Semprimoznik joined Colvin in double figures with 14 points. 


6A Consolation Bracket | Rigby 56, Eagle 53 

No. 7 Rigby advanced to day three with a victory over No. 3 Eagle. Rigby led the whole way apart from two ties throughout the game. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Kinzley Larsen led the Trojans’ charge with 25 points on 8/15 shooting and 8/11 from the free throw line. Bailey Barber added 10 points for Rigby, who also got 7 points each from Tiade Togiai and Allie Dansie. 

Eagle got 18 points from Berkley Jones, along with 9 rebounds. Porter Wood chipped in with 10 points, while Taya Nelson and Bella Thompson both added 8 for the Mustangs. 


6A Consolation Bracket | Borah 37, Capital 30 

No. 4 Borah will play on day three after defeating No. 8 Capital. The Lions jumped out to an early 9-5 lead after the first and were able to lengthen it nearly every quarter the rest of the way. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Nakiyia Percell had 11 points and seven rebounds. As a team the Lions outrebounded the Eagles 36-30. Kya Davis added 9 points, while Amayah Defares chipped in with 8. 

Miriam Stafford had 9 points and ten rebounds for the Eagles. Eden Francis finished with 8 points and six rebounds as well for Capital. 


5A Semi-Finals | Middleton 60, Mountain Home 51 

No. 3 Middleton defeated No. 2 Mountain Home to advance to the 5A Girls State Championship tomorrow night. Despite a 19-5 lead after the first quarter, the Vikings found themselves only up by one at the half, after a big second quarter from the Tigers. The third quarter proved the difference in the game as the Vikings outscored the Tigers 20-10. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Zoey Blackwell had 23 points, eight rebounds, and three assists for the Vikings. Miley Steele added 12 points on a perfect 4/4 shooting and Olivia Blackwell chipped in with 11 points. 

Lexi Longhurst led the way for the Tigers with 18 points. Ava Johnson and Julie Donez scored 14 and 11 respectively. The Tigers shot 7/11 from the three point line. 


5A Semi-Finals | Pocatello 56, Blackfoot 54

No. 1 Pocatello was able to hold off No. 4 Blackfoot’s comeback attempt to advance to their first state championship since 1995. The Thunder led 33-23 at the half, but the Broncos were able to tie the game up heading into the fourth quarter. In a game that had six lead changes and four ties, the Thunder outrebounded the Broncos 32-24. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Kennasyn Garza led the way with 25 points and 11 boards, while Abby Lusk added 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Thunder hit seven three-pointers and shot 15/22 from the free throw line. 

Addison Turner had 17 points and four rebounds for the Broncos and Jaci Capson chipped in 13 points and four boards.

5A Consolation Bracket | Jerome 50, Sandpoint 35

No. 7 Jerome was able to ride an early 11-2 lead to defeat No. 6 Sandpoint to stay alive in the consolation bracket. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Jensen Cook had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the way for the Tigers. Despite only shooting 2/11 from three, Jerome shot 15/32 from two and scored double figures in each quarter. 

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Jordyn Tomco who scored 16 points, including going 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.  


5A Consolation Bracket | Skyline 69, Bishop Kelly 64

No. 5 seeded Skyline came back from a six-point deficit heading into the 4th quarter and hung on in overtime defeating No. 8 Bishop Kelly. This game featured 12 different lead changes and 5 ties. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Shay Shippen led the way with 25 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies. Shippen also shot 12/15 from the free-throw line. Macy Marlow added 16 points and Nelly Nunez put in 10 of her own. 

Brooke Hutchinson scored 23 points leading the way for the Knights, who also got 15 points from Julia Baerlocher and 11 points from Mary Behrend. 


4A Semi-Finals | Bear Lake 65, South Fremont 43

No. 2 Bear Lake defeated No. 3 South Fremont to punch their ticket to the 4A Girls State Championship tomorrow. The Bears led 27-14 at the half and finished the game 8/15 from the three point line, while shooting 21/27 from the free throw line. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Saydee Shaul had 19 points to lead the Bears, while going 3/3 from three and 8/11 from the line. Halle Wells added 11 points and five rebounds. 

South Fremont was led by Brianne Bailey with 20 points and six rebounds. Hayden Larson chipped in with 12 points on 5/10 shooting and seven rebounds.  


4A Semi-Finals | Sugar-Salem 47, Timberlake 21

No. 1 Sugar Salem defeated Timberlake to advance to the 4A Girls State Championship tomorrow. The Diggers led 16-3 after the first and had the lead the entire ballgame, with the exception of one tie. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Ashlyn Harris had 14 points on 6/7 shooting and nine rebounds for the Diggers. Andee Peterson also had 14 points along with three assists. The Diggers outrebounded with Tigers 29-15 and outassisted them 10-1. 

Malia MIller led the Tigers in scoring with 9 points and added five steals. 


4A Consolation Bracket | McCall-Donnelly 53, Fruitland 48

No. 7 McCall-Donnelly defeated No. 6 Fruitland to live to see another day in the consolation side of the 4A bracket. Fruitland led by three after the first quarter, but a 16 point Vandal second quarter proved to be the difference in this one. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Emma Ormsby was three blocks shy of a rare state tournament triple-double putting up 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 blocks. 

Aleksi Drollinger led the Grizzlies in scoring with 13 points and Kennedy Fitch added 11 points and 10 rebounds of her own. 


4A Consolation Bracket | Kimberly 62, Gooding 41

No. 5 Kimberly defeated No. 8 Gooding thanks to an early five point lead after the first quarter that steadily grew throughout the rest of the game. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Hope Ward put together a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, but the Bulldogs had five total players in double figures in this one. Taya Plew led the team in scoring with 14 points. 

Fallon Millican was the lone Senator in double figures with a double-double of her own of 18 points and 10 boards. Olivia Rodgers was a point shy of a double-double adding 9 points and 15 rebounds.


3A Semi-Finals | Parma 39, Melba 33 

No. 2 Parma outscored No. 3 Parma 15-4 in the fourth quarter to advance to the 3A Girls State Championship. It was the only quarter the Panthers scored in double figures throughout the game. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Aarey Harris led the way with 18 points and four steals. Kaidance Kaiser chipped in with 9 points and three rebounds.  

Melba was led by Tariah Carter who shot 8/10 from the field for 19 points. She also added seven rebounds. Ellie Johnson added 8 points for the Mustangs. 


3A Semi-Finals | Malad 48, Grangeville 36

Despite trailing by six at halftime with a 13% field goal percentage, No. 1 Malad used a 37 point second half to come back to defeat No. 4 Grangeville. The Dragons shot 5/11 from the three point line, making all five of those three point field goals in the second half. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Izzy Haycock had 15 points to lead the way for the Dragons. Paityn Ward added 8 points and a steal, while both Brynnlee Jones and Kiley Miller scored 7 points for Malad. 

Leading the way for Grangeville was Madalyn Green with 10 points. Addisyn Vanderwall chipped in with 9 points and three rebounds for the Bulldogs. 



3A Consolation Bracket | New Plymouth 48, Soda Springs 36

No. 6 New Plymouth defeated No. 6 Soda Springs to stay alive in the 3A Consolation Bracket. The Pilgrims led by one at the half and were able to extend the lead to five heading into the fourth quarter. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Maycee Christensen had 14 points, including 4 3’s, and five rebounds. 

Abby Goodin led the way for the Cardinals with 13 points and Courtnee Gronning chipped in with 7 points and three rebounds. 


3A Consolation Bracket | North Fremont 47, Ririe 43 

No. 8 North Fremont stayed alive in the consolation side of the 3A bracket defeating No. 5 Ririe. The Huskies erupted for 26 points in the 4th quarter en route to their victory. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Peyton Lenz had 18 points, including 4 three-point shots. Taylor Sessions added 16 points and led the team in rebounds with seven.

McKall Marsh and Brinley Taylor led the Bulldogs in scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.  


2A Semi-Finals | Prairie 69, Valley 40 

No. 2 Prairie was the first 2A team to punch their ticket to the Girls State Championship tomorrow defeating No. 3 Valley. The Pirates scored at least 16 points in every quarter and led by 13 at the half, while shooting 48% from the field for the game. Prairie’s defense also forced 38 turnovers. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Kylie Shumacher had 21 points, nine rebounds, and three steals on an efficient 10/15 shooting. Lexi Schumacher led the Pirates in scoring with 23 points, and added five steals. 

Hailey Malone had 10 points for Valley. Joanie Lewis and Alora Godfrey each added nine points for the Vikings who shot 6/9 from the free throw line.

2A Semi-Finals | Oakley 56, Lapwai 47

No. 1 Oakley and No. 5 Lapwai were all square at 31 through three quarters when the Hornets erupted for 25 points in the fourth to keep their state championship hopes alive. Oakley outrebounded the Wildcats 48-31. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Dakota Wadsworth had 20 points, 13 of which came in the 4th quarter including three clutch three pointers when the Hornets were trailing by 5. Adelyn Maseda nearly had a 20-20 night with 16 points and 17 rebounds for Oakley. 

Skylin Picard had 23 points to lead the way for the Wildcats. Amasone George added 13 points and five rebounds for Lapwai who shot 8/10 from the free throw line. 

2A Consolation Bracket | Lakeside 49, Liberty Charter 40

No. 6 Lakeside defeated No. 7 Liberty Charter to advance in the consolation side of the bracket. The Knights won every quarter aside from the third. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Laila Charlie had 10 points and four rebounds and Kyleigh Wolfe led the Knights in scoring with 18 points and seven rebounds. 

Jennabelle Reece notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards for the Patriots. Sydney Albright chipped in with 8 points as well for Liberty Charter. 


2A Consolation Bracket | Butte County 61, Wilder 25

No. 4 Butte County outscored No. 8 Wilder 19-3 in the second quarter and never looked back. The Pirates had 18 steals and outrebounded the Wildcats by 10. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Abbie Knight led the way with 19 points and eight rebounds. The Pirates also got 16 points from Brynn Anderson and 12 from Addison Pancheri. 

Emely Ramirez led the Wildcats in scoring with 9 points. Natalie Escutia added 6 points and four rebounds for Wilder. 


1A Semi-Finals | Rockland 38, Carey 32

No. 3 Rockland only scored 10 points in the first half but was able to put up 28 in the second half leading to a victory over No. 2 Carey. The Bulldogs shot 15/31 from the free-throw line and were able to overcome a one point deficit heading into the fourth quarter.  

Despite only shooting 2/15 from the field, IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Calyn Permann was 6/8 from the free-line and scored 10 in all, while adding seven rebounds. Alexa Permann added 10 points and seven rebounds of her own for the Bulldogs who will play for the 1A Girls State Championship tomorrow. 

Andie Simpson scored 15 points for the Panthers, who got 9 points and 5 rebounds from Heidi Rojas Esparza as well.

1A Semi-Finals | Genesee 44, Salmon River 32

No. 1 Genesee was able to punch its ticket to the 1A Girls State Championship defeating No. 5 Salmon River. The Bulldogs held the Savages to only 12 points in the second half and shut Salmon River out in the fourth. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Chloe Grieser had a 20-20 performance with 28 points and 20 rebounds, including 8 on the offensive side. Sophie Johnson chipped in with 8 points and four rebounds. The Bulldogs won the turnover battle with a +9 differential. 

Leading the way for Savages were Taylor Ewing, who had 15 points and four rebounds, and Rylee Walters who had 11 points and seven boards for Salmon River. 


1A Consolation Bracket | Challis 33, Mackay 30

No. 6 Challis held on to defeat No. 7 Mackay to stay alive in the consolation bracket. Each team scored 19 in the second half, but the Vikings outscored the Miners by four in the second quarter proving to be the difference. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Taylor Redick had 12 points and six rebounds. Jalie Oerke added 7 points and six rebounds and Lilly Stebbins added 5 points. 

Alyssa Pehrson led the Miners with 10 points with 2 three’s and Danika Seefried added 6 points and 12 rebounds. 


1A Consolation Bracket | Dietrich 51, Nezperce 40

No. 4 Dietrich defeated No. 8 Nezperce to advance to day three of the 1A consolation bracket. The Blue Devils scored double figures in every quarter and led the entire game. 

IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Katilyn Wannamaker had 22 points on 7/12 shooting and 11 rebounds. Paje Van Tassell chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds. 

The Nighthawks leading scorer was Aubree Lux with 12 points and seven rebounds. Paityn Ralstin shot 4/4 from the field with 8 points as well for Nezperce.
