1. Kyler Robinson, Oakley
In a marquee matchup of 1-versus-2 in the District 4 Snake River Conference, Robinson's efforts on both sides of the ball propelled the defending state champion Hornets to the win. He threw for 398 yards and five scores and added two more on the ground to lead the offense, but it was his end-zone interception in the fourth quarter that allowed Oakley (5-1, 4-0 SRC) to escape with the victory over a very good Lighthouse Christian (4-1, 2-1 SRC) team.
2. Jack Driskill, Logos
In a likewise marquee matchup of 1-versus-1A in the District 2 Whitepine League, Driskill had a hand in seven touchdowns - four passing (272 yards) and three rushing (159 yards) - as the Knights pulled away in the second half in a road win over previously unbeaten Potlatch. Logos (6-0, 5-0 WPL) now has wins over Kamiah, Lapwai, and Potlatch. The Loggers (4-1, 3-1 WPL) fall into a tie with Kamiah for second place behind Logos.
3. Teague Matthews, Rockland
In a non-conference road win over Rimrock, the Bulldog senior put on another show as he threw for 364 yards and ran for 155 more, accounting for 519 total yards, in the victory. He had a part in nine touchdowns for Rockland (four passing and five rushing). He's been involved in 39 touchdowns (22 passing, 17 rushing) in six games for Rockland (4-2, 1-0 Rocky Mountain Conference), which plays at Mackay on Friday.

KENDRICK VS. BUTTE COUNTY RECAP
It started as a big-time matchup - the top-ranked 1A Division 2 team taking on the fourth-ranked team in Division 1. Kendrick and Butte County weren't disappointing, either. The Division 2 Tigers raced out to a 20-point lead before the Division 1 Pirates battled back. Early in the fourth quarter, everything changed. Butte County's Dillon Waymire had a medical emergency on the sideline. Medical personnel rushed to aid Waymire before transporting him to a local hospital. The two sides met and agreed to end the game, then knelt together in prayer. Kendrick was declared the winner, 50-28, but all concern is for Waymire. The senior lineman is making progress but remains hospitalized. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help pay for medical expenses.
CHAOS APPROACHING?
Ask your parents and grandparents if they remember the introduction to the television show, "The Twilight Zone." The narrator says, "You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone." That description could fit the 1A Division 2 Sawtooth Conference. Camas County is 2-0 in conference play and, led by Tristen and Troy Smith, appear set to secure the top seed out of the conference into the state playoffs.
However, Hagerman, Dietrich, Castleford and Hansen are all 1-1 in conference, with Castleford and Dietrich still getting a chance to topple the Mushers. That sets up a possibility of a three-way tie for first place, second place, or third place. Three teams in the Sawtooth will qualify for the playoffs and it may take a panel of very good mathematicians on a weekly basis to sort it all out.
END IN SIGHT?
The Rimrock Raiders haven't qualified for the 1A Division 1 postseason since 2014. The program hasn't won a postseason game as an 8-man program. In fact, unless we missed something, Rimrock's last postseason win on the football field was the 1993 A-4 (now 1A) 11-man state championship game over Mackay. Rimrock has a chance to earn a spot out of District 3's Western Idaho Conference, largely thanks to do-it-all standout Ronaldo Gomez. The junior has been a regular on our 3-Star lists this fall, and earned honorable mention recognition again this week after picking up 359 all-purpose yards against Rockland on Friday. As it stands, he has 850 yards rushing and nine touchdowns, another six touchdown passes, multiple kick-return touchdowns, is among the team leaders on defense, and was a second-team All-State kicker as a sophomore. The Raiders need a win on Saturday night against Wilder/Greenleaf to keep its hopes alive. If Rimrock is successful, you can bet Gomez will be in the middle of almost everything.
