Here are the top performers from Week 6 of the regular season.
1. David Kludt, Kamiah
In arguably the game of the week at the 8-man level in Idaho, Kamiah's sophomore quarterback was a near perfect 8-for-9 passing for 158 yards and two scores against perennial Whitepine powerhouse Prairie. He also added a pair of TD runs to help Kamiah (5-1 overall, 4-0 Whitepine) earn the inside track to a possible conference championship and opening round bye in the 1A Division 1 playoffs with a convincing win over the Pirates.
2. Ethan Roland, Castleford
If there's an argument to be made, Ethan Roland made sure the Wolves came out on top of the other 8-man heavyweight tilt on Friday. Roland ran for 161 yards and four touchdowns as the Wolves went on the road to knock off previously unbeaten Camas County. He also had seven tackles and a sack as Castleford (5-0 overall, 2-0 Sawtooth) held the Mushers to a season-low eight point.
3. Terrell Ellenwood-Jones, Lapwai
Last week, we acknowledged Logos' Jack Driskill for his nine-touchdown game. Well, Ellenwood-Jones had eight on Friday against Troy. He was a perfect 9-for-9 passing for 135 yards and three scores while also rushing for 233 yards and five scores in the Wildcats' victory. It was a critical win for Lapwai (2-3 overall, 1-3 Whitepine), too, as the team competes for one of the at-large berths into the 1A Division 1 playoffs.

MORE BIG GAMES
A hat-tip to Potlatch's Jack Clark and Hansen's Elway Pickett for making this week's three-star selection very difficult. Clark went bananas in a win over Logos, scoring four touchdowns with his team down two starters because of injury to claim an important, come-from-behind conference win.
Meanwhile, Pickett returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and added a third via pass reception in the Huskies' important Sawtooth Conference victory over Hagerman. The margin for error is slim but, with the win, Hansen (2-3 overall, 1-1 Sawtooth) is in the mix for a 1A Division 2 playoff spot with games at Castleford (Oct. 14) and against Camas County (Oct. 21) still ahead on the schedule.
SPOILER IN THE SAND DUNES?
As of today, Rimrock - yes, Rimrock - is leading the 1A Division 1 Western Idaho Conference. The Raiders hold first place by virtue of a 2-0 conference record while league favorite (and fifth-ranked) Notus had its by week and is just 1-0 in WIC play. While Notus remains the prohibitive favorite to claim the WIC title and automatic berth into the 1A Division 1 postseason, could coach Sam Ward's Raider squad play its way into the playoffs?
If Rimrock (3-2 overall, 2-0 Western Idaho Conference) wins out, it would include a win at home over Notus and the conference's automatic berth. In that scenario, Notus almost certainly has done enough to earn an at-large spot despite the loss.
However, let's say Rimrock splits its last two games - a road win at Idaho City on Oct. 14 before falling to Notus - would that be enough, at 4-3 overall and 3-1 in WIC play, to curry favor with the MaxPreps magic equation that determines the at-large berths into the 1A Division 1 playoffs? There are likely more than a few teams around the state outside of District 3 who are paying close attention since a potential at-large spot hangs in the balance.
CLOSING IN
With two games left on its schedule, the top-ranked team in 1A Division 1, Oakley, is in good position to secure the District 4 Snake River Conference title and earn a first-round bye in the upcoming postseason. The Hornets (5-1 overall, 4-0 Snake River) defeated Lighthouse Christian on Friday and has just two conference games left: at valley and at home against Glenns Ferry. Over the past four weeks, the Hornets have found a way to get it done against four solid opponents - Murtaugh (56-14), Raft River (34-30), Carey (42-36) and the Lions on Friday (46-22).
While the team has gotten contributions from all over the roster, it is still waiting to find out if Bry Severe, one of the team's most talented athletes, will be able to play this season. A testament to the team's depth and overall talent, Oakley has an overall scoring differential of plus-128 points - even though Sever hasn't played a snap yet this season due to an injury. Severe was selected as a second-team All-State running back and linebacker last fall as a sophomore.
