After another great weekend of small school football action I had another strong - strong - batch to select from.
1. Jrew Plocher, Watersprings
195 rushing yards and 5 TDs, 157 passing yards and 2 TDs (on 3 completions) in win over Mackay.
2. Caleb Ball, Mullan/St. Regis
255 yards passing (4TD), 47 yards rushing (1TD), 1 INT (TD) in win over Lakeside.
3. Colten Meyer, Horseshoe Bend
253 yards passing (4TD), 124 yards rushing (1TD), team-high 13 tackles in win over Notus
Honorable Mention
Carlos Larias (Shoshone)
Justice Schrader (Glenns Ferry)
Dallas Morgan (Kendrick)
Bry Severe (Oakley)
Angus Jordan (Genesee)
Tyler Howard (Potlatch)
Kaedan Clemens (Notus)
Tyler Wanstrom (Butte County)
Junior Benites (Murtaugh)
Connor Simpson (Carey)
Colton Sams (Kamiah)
Titus Yearout (Lapwai)
Dylan Pickering (Clearwater Valley)
Brody Hasselstrom (Prairie)
We knew coming in to the season that Connor Simpson from Carey, Brody Hasselstrom from Prairie, and Mullan/St. Regis's Adam Ball could probably be one of the "3 Stars" every week and it wouldn't really be a stretch. Fabulous players.
Two that maybe we *didn't* see coming? Genesee QB/DB Angus Jordan and Murtaugh RB/DB Junior Benites. Both have been off-the-charts good through three weeks.
Both have a chance to really make a statement (for themselves and their teams) over their next two games: Genesee plays at Clearwater Valley and at Lapwai, Murtaugh hosts Castleford and plays at Oakley. Four strong opponents.
Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments!
