Ridgevue opened in the fall of 2016, but the football program hasn’t been able to vault itself into state playoff contention just yet as the Warhawks continue to search for its first winning season in program history.
But with 15 returning starters, including quarterback Isaac Jones and running back Cash McKie, a second-team all-conference selection from last year, head coach Sean Impomeni, now in his third season, is hoping this could be the breakthrough year.
With 6A enrollment numbers, the school petitioned down to Idaho’s new-look 5A class, which will help the Warhawks build a more competitive schedule, keeping its matchups with its old 4A foes.
The Warhawks will open the season at Canyon Ridge in Twin Falls.
