Team Preview
Written by: Dallin Fryar Entering his third year as the head coach of Kimberly High School's football team, Joe Dille is eager to lead a talented and experienced squad into the upcoming season. With four years of previous experience as an assistant coach at Kimberly, Dille knows his team well and is supported by a strong coaching staff. The Bulldogs will rely on a solid group of returning seniors, including versatile athlete Mason Jenson, wide receivers and linebackers Ryker Larson and AJ Walker, and a strong offensive and defensive line anchored by Tobias Morse, Robbie Rudner, and Gunner Stringham. Although they’ve lost key players like Michael Goff, Parker Stringham, and Kade Larson, Dille is confident in the abilities of new impact players such as running back Lucas Williams and quarterback MaCraye Bruning, who will lead the offense in his first season as a varsity starter. Offensively, Kimberly plans to capitalize on its speed and versatility with a spread offense designed to get their playmakers in space. With a deep stable of running backs and a powerful offensive line, the Bulldogs can also control the ground game when needed. Dille emphasizes the importance of starting strong and scoring early, a key area of focus as the team adjusts to a new quarterback. Defensively, Kimberly will operate primarily out of a 3-4 base but will occasionally shift into a 4-front. The team boasts a seasoned defensive line and a fully returning secondary, while the linebacker group, although less experienced, is deep and poised for growth. Stopping the run will be a primary focus, as the Bulldogs aim to make their opponents one-dimensional. As they face a challenging non-conference schedule, the Bulldogs are excited about the opportunity to compete against top teams, which will push them to improve. The X-factor for Kimberly's success this season will be the team’s ability to come together, trust one another, and embrace their roles on the field. With a strong offseason behind them, Dille and his coaching staff are ready to see which players emerge as leaders and how the team will perform in the heat of competition.
