Coming off its third straight 7-win season, and looking for its fifth consecutive winning season, Emmett has emerged as quite a contender in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference.

Head coach Rich Hargitt says four of his five starting offensive linemen are back, which should pave way for one of the best all-around ground attacks in the state. One of the returning members to the veteran offensive line is Sam Buck, who won a state championship in wrestling last season and is expected to be one of the best guards in the state.

Buck, and the rest of the Emmett line, should pave the way for what is expected to be one of the best all-around ground attacks in the state as the Huskies return both Quinten Smith and Isaac Brennan to the backfield. The duo combined for over 3,500 yards in 2023, and helped lead Emmett to the state quarterfinals where they fell to the eventual state champions and rival Bishop Kelly.

The Knights enter the fall as a favorite to win another state championship and travel to Emmett the last week of the season.
