The Lakeside Knights are the defending Scenic Idaho Conference champions and are looking to repeat this season. Head Coach James TwoTeeth will rely on the Conference Player of the Year, senior Vander Brown. Joining Brown will be juniors Quincy Hall and Brutis Sijohn, both All-Conference team selections in 2022.
“We will have more scoring options this year. We will look to push tempo, play quick and fast but also be able to slow down and run offense,” says TwoTeeth. There will be more scoring options than last season, where “nobody wanted to score other than Vander. This year we should have four or five scoring options,” says TwoTeeth. The Knights will be versatile on defense while utilizing their ball pressure in the full court to speed up the game.
Genesis Prep and coach Lon Morast are looking to improve their 8-12 record from last season. Helping the Jaguars will be returning All-Conference selection Joey Specht. Also returning this season are Donovan Daniels, Carson Rubert, Cooper Russworm and Landen Young. Coach Morast plans on his squad playing tough man to man defense and crashing the boards.
The Miners from Wallace round out the Scenic Idaho Conference. Wallace will look to be competitive with Lakeside and Genesis Prep while relying on All-Conference selection Brad Tesky.
