It was difficult to find offenses in Idaho more explosive than Lapwai was during the 2019 season.
The Wildcats found success on a regular basis to the tune of 48 points or more in every win.
Third year head coach Josh Leighton is now tasked with replacing key cogs to that unit such as Tui Moliga Jr., Kendall Leighton, Pox Young and multiple others.
Fortunately for Lapwai, Titus Yearout jumped right on to the radar of 8-man football in Idaho last year with a big freshman season.
As Yearout steps into the lead receiver spot with a new quarterback tossing the ball his way, the expectation is that his productivity will continue to skyrocket.
Linebacker Dom Williamson and lineman Justin Rabago-Johnson are some of the other notable returners for a team that will look much different than it did just one year ago.
There is plenty of mystery as to who some of those faces will be, though it is reasonable to expect that there are enough athletes in place at Lapwai to minimize the concern over this season.
For a team that was a touchdown away from a trip to the state quarterfinals a year ago, the hope is that the forward progress of the program over the last few years can continue and build in to even more.
Lapwai begins 2019 on August 30 against Lewis County at Craigmont.
