Last season Idaho City finished 10-12, but in the offseason the coaching staff identified some pitfalls in the team’s game that it hopes to complement with returning talent to bring better things in store in 2015-16.

Idaho City has three returning players, canvassing both the perimeter and the paint: center Aaron Carignan, and guards Wesley Pierce and Chase Fischer. Carignan anchors a strong post presence for the Wildcats, and the guard line of Pierce and Fischer should complement that nicely. Ball security gives the team something to work on ahead of the new season.

Defensively Idaho City likes to run a lot of match-up zone and the team has a pretty solid collective grasp of the concepts. Now it’s just a matter of translating that into on-court consistency, which if done successfully would mark a stark uptick in defensive prowess.

Veteran coach Jayce Bell says the 2015-16 Wildcats are a fun group to coach, with a positive attitude and an others-first mentality. That should put them in good stead as they continue to grow together over the course of the season.
