As a team, what are your offensive strengths? Our offensive strength is our interior 3 linemen. Will Gram, Tell Hites and Zach Blum. The 3 of them were all league players while Will Gram was all state on both sides of the ball and Tell Hites was a second team all selection OL. We will also have a very dynamic tailback in Kellen Hoskins.
Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year: 2 minute offense.
As a team, what are your defensive strengths? Again our defensive line will anchor the team. Will Gram, Tell Hites and Zach Blum with a linebacker behind them that led the state in tackles as a junior, Kellen Hoskins.
Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year: Pass coverage.
Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season? “One”
What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team? I can’t put my finger on one particular thing that excites me. This group of seniors is hungry for a title. They have a 2nd place state trophy from last year and a 3rd place from 2012, their sophomore year.
For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule? 0 week (8/29/14) versus Salmon River. Salmon River finished as the #2 ranked 8-man team in the country last year. Week 6 (10/10/14) versus Prairie. Prairie will be a great team.
What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team? Keeping our skilled players healthy. We are thin at the skilled positions. Improving our pass protection.
If you could change one rule in high school football, what would it be? Trainers should be required at all games.
Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school football? To hopefully make a positive influence on the youth of our community and beyond.
What makes your school the best place to coach for? The community, the administration, the teachers, and the student body are second to none. Pride, honor and tradition run deep in Troy.
