Team Preview:

The Boise Braves are coming off a 16-6 record and were one of the more improved teams in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference, bettering their previous year record of 7-13. After a good regular season, the Braves went 1-2 in district playoff games and ended up missing the state tournament.
The 2014-15 season looks to be an interesting one for the Braves. After losing seven seniors to graduation, including All-Idaho second team pick Sam Simpson, and star guard Alex Rant, the Braves also return some talent from last year in junior guard Logan Miller, junior forward Evan Henning, and senior guard Charlie Hughes.
The question for the Braves this season: Are they in a rebuilding year, or will they have enough to make a run towards a state tournament berth (somewhere they haven’t been since 1997)?
When I asked Coach Jeff Ulrickson this question he responded by saying, “We have a great group of kids this year with high expectations for the season. Our goals for the season will be to finish strong and to stay healthy. We also want to finish in the top two in pod B, and qualify for the state tournament.”
With that being said, it sounds like Boise wants to remedy the disappointment from last season and treat this season as an opportunity to prove they have the talent still to compete for a district title and a state tournament berth.
GAMES TO WATCH: Boise only plays rival Borah and Capital once this season. Both are away games. Boise will play Borah @ Borah on January 9, and will play Capital @ Capital on January 30.
