Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year: Being new, and a late hire, I did not coach these kids in the summer. So my information is still in discovery mode. I want them to be able to push the ball and run the break. We will need to execute in the half court, attack in the post and from the 3 point line.
Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year: We want to be able to pressure the ball in the full court and the half court. We want to try and dictate a plan and to give the opponent trouble when trying to execute their strategies.
Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season? “We GET to play TOGETHER, with LOVE, with EXCITEMENT, with INTENSITY, and with CHAMPIONSHIP CHARACTER!”
What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team? Simply the fact that I GET to coach them.
For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule? Dec. 7th – Bishop Kelly at THS- Friendship with Coach Larry Crump (rival) – BK is one of better teams in the state.
Either Borah games- State Champs!Either Boise High games- RIVALS!!!- Jan 4th at Quest Arena- pending a schedule change.
What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team? See Motto above- “We GET to play TOGETHER, with LOVE, with EXCITEMENT, with INTENSITY, and with CHAMPIONSHIP CHARACTER!” – Buy in….
If you could change one rule in high school basketball, what would it be? To play more than 20 regular season games – a holiday tourney for example
Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball? I do this because I love kids, the game, the competition, and the strategy of the game.
What makes your school the best place to coach for? It’s home! The kids /families, the teachers and administration are the reasons for it being the best place. I am part of the roots of Timberline High School and I am very prideful of this fact.
