As a team, what are your offensive strengths? I think we are athletic and can do a lot of things with a motion type offense. We have Hunter Dennis, Tanner Johnson and a group of kids that we feel will give us a few options. We will also run a lot of quick hitters. We want to run as much as we can.
Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year: We need to be better with our field goal %. I think we will take better shots to improve in that area. Also our FT % has to go up. Maybe get a few fast points as well. It is a work in progress.
As a team, what are your defensive strengths? We are going to work very hard on team defense. We most do a better job weakside to strongside. We will be much improved on this end of the court. We have to be able to switch it up once in awhile, should help in making us a better defensive team.
Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season? Our team Motto this year is simply, “One for all, all for one!”
What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team? We are very athletic that should be fun to watch.
For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule? All games, because it should be fun every game we are in. Tough League, every night is a battle.
What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team? We have to do the little things much better than we did last year. If we will do that I think you will see great improvement.
If you could change one rule in high school basketball, what would it be? Add the shot clock to the game. It would make it exciting for everyone.
Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball? Working with great kids every year and the love of the game!
What makes your school the best place to coach for? It is, and always has been, a great place to work. People care for kids and want to see them succeed in the classroom and athletic field.
