With the recent news of the Idaho High School Activities Association voting to end their longstanding partnership with IdahoSports.com in favor of the NFHS Network, there has been some uncertainty among schools, fans, players, parents, media, and more as to the future of IdahoSports.com.
On Friday, April 8, I sat down with Julia Cox on Local News 8's SportsLine to hash out the details of the future of IdahoSports.com. I hope that this will clear up some of the questions among fans concerning our future.
It should be noted that due to a technical glitch, we were unable to talk about how the new contract with the NFHS Network affects you. I will cover that here: the new contract means that all state championship events will be on the NFHS Network website and that you will have to pay to watch those events now. A day pass will cost you $9.95, a month pass costs $14.95, and a year pass costs $119.95. There is no getting around the paywall to watch those events - you now have to pay to see your teams online in state championship events.
Any events that IdahoSports.com broadcasts will continue to be free to you.
