66 games in 3 days.
After the thousands of games that have been played this year, in both boys and girls basketball, we have one final weekend to hash out the winners of the boys season.
All I know is this: I wish it would never end.
Basketball has been, and always will be, my number one favorite sport. As we kick off March Madness, I certainly hope that I can enjoy the final moments of the high school basketball season as much as you will. It's fun to see kids laying everything they have out on the court in pursuit of team accolades, in this case, a state championship. Only one team from each classification can come out holding the state championship banner, but each team can certainly learn a lot about themselves with each passing moment during the Real Dairy Shootout.
The 2015 edition of the Real Dairy Shootout is once again brought to you by the United Dairymen of Idaho and the Idaho High School Activities Association. Please make sure you thank those who are in charge of the tournaments for their hard work in putting this on for the youth of Idaho and for all fans, everywhere.
This year, for the second straight season, I have been assigned to cover the 3A classification at Meridian HS here on IdahoSports.com. Join Lance Taylor, Kyle 'Fuzz' Taylor, and myself as we bring you all of the action on our IdahoSports. GameStreams. I just hope my voice can hold out for 11 games over three days as I am battling a cold (in what is, easily, the WORST time of year to get sick from a broadcasters standpoint). We certainly hope that you will enjoy our online coverage if you can't be at the 3A Real Dairy Shootout in person.
The 3A classification is WIDE OPEN this year. I don't know if you can pick a favorite on paper. Maybe I'll use that as an excuse if my 3A picks are way off base.
That being said, as I say each year with my picks, I do not have a 'hometown team', since I didn't grow up in Idaho, nor do I have kids attending any school. So if I pick against your team, don't take it too hard. After all, my only goal is to beat Paul Kingsbury's average for his picks (which, in all reality, shouldn't be that hard to do). So if I pick against your school, don't try to crucify me in the posts below... I can't pick every team. If I'm wrong in some of my picks, that's ok with me: I've never been perfect in anything, so this shouldn't be any different!
