ORDER GAME PHOTOS 

During the month of January, I undertook an endeavor called 'The Idaho Girls Basketball Top 25 Daily Rankings'.  It was a mixed bag, reception-wise, but the idea was based on solid foundation.  I wanted to spotlight a specific team or game each day, and how their performance or the outcome of the game changed the landscape in Idaho high school girls basketball.

With the calendar turning to February, and District Tournament play underway, I'm going to continue to post daily about girls hoops, but the presentation will be slightly different.

That's right...it's time for Brackets Baney to make his return!  

Every day, I'll post the biggest story or stories from district tournament play, and how each state tournament is shaping up.  I'll have daily projections of what each state tournament bracket will look like, along with teams that have officially clinched bids.  In my projections, I'll use the IHSAA's pre-determined number of bids for each district, and apply the top seeds from each district into those slots, until a lower-seeded team earns an upset.  In the case of State Tournament Play-In Games, I'll project the winner to be the team with the higher MaxPreps ranking.

So far in what's been light district action, there's only been one upset.  In the 1AD2 Rocky Mountain Conference, fifth-seeded Watersprings went to fourth-seeded Sho-Ban on Saturday and earned a 58-39 win.  That sets up a district semifinal showdown at top-seeded (and defending 1AD2 state champ) Rockland on Wednesday night.
