Skyline at Idaho Falls
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live
It's the Emotion Bowl; one of the biggest rivalries in the state that dates back to Skyline's opening in 1966. The Grizzlies have not looked the part of their state championship-winning team from a year ago. Idaho Falls has had an amazing season after going winless just a year ago. While they dropped last week's game to Rigby, the turnaround by the Tigers is still impressive nonetheless. Skyline can not only dethrone their heated rival's dream season by winning, but they can also save their own season and prove that they are not to be written off in their chase for back-to-back state titles.
Blackfoot at Rigby
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live
Rigby has soundly beaten all of its competition this year and has clearly shown they are the best 5A team in the state. They'll take a quick break from conference play to welcome 4A Blackfoot to town in a game that should be a great tune-up for a massive showdown with Highland next Friday. The Broncos cannot be overlooked, though. They've lost twice to 5A opponents by a combined two points and will come into Friday night's game with an upset on their mind.
Emmett at Middleton
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live
Since dropping a 34-28 decision at 3A Weiser early in the 2021 season, the Huskies have looked very similar to their 4A SIC championship team from a year ago. They'll face their most challenging test yet in a hostile road environment when they head to Middleton to face a Vikings team that is coming off of a hard loss to Bishop Kelly. This will also be the last meeting between the two teams for the foreseeable future as Middleton continues its 4A SIC farewell tour before moving up to the 5A SIC for at least two years.
Filer at Gooding
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live
Filer has exceeded expectations in just about every area imaginable with only two losses against quality North Fremont and Kimberly teams. Gooding has been the team that many expected it to be, and enter this game undefeated. Can the Wildcats pull off the upset against the Senators? They'll need that or a major win over 2A powerhouse Declo next week if they want to show that their impressive record isn't the result of a light schedule.
Aberdeen at North Fremont
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live
North Fremont faces their most challenging test of the season when Aberdeen visits on Friday night. Don't let the Tigers' 3-2 record fool you, their losses have come against traditional 2A power Declo and a quality 3A foe in South Fremont. Even at North Fremont, the Huskies can expect to be give all they can handle in a non-conference game that will be crucial to playoff seeding.
Capital at Mountain View
7:00 PM Friday
Listen Live
A 35-0 loss to Meridian earlier in the season showed that Capital still has some work to do to close the gap between them and the top teams in the 5A SIC. They'll get another shot at one of those teams when they travel to Mountain View on Friday night. The Mavericks have been in three one-possession games this year, and have emerged victorious in all of them. A win by either team essentially locks up the 5A SIC River Division title, although both teams should feel comfortable about their playoff chances.
Centennial at Kuna
7:00 PM Friday
Listen Live
Both teams only have one win to their name this season, and it came against first-year school Owyhee. While both Centennial and Kuna are firmly outside of the playoff conversation, expect these evenly matched squads to treat their Friday night matchup as a playoff game.
Coeur d'Alene at Lake City
7:00 PM Friday
5A Inland Empire League play kicks off for both teams on Friday night with a classic crosstown rivalry. Lake City is coming off of a disappointing loss to Sandpoint, and now faces a Vikings team that has rolled through its competition since dropping their opener to Lehi, Utah. The Timberwolves can start conference play on a high note by pulling off a massive upset over their rival. The Vikings, meanwhile, can further show they are the cream of the crop in the 5A IEL with a win.
Pocatello at Shelley
7:00 PM Friday
Shelley is coming off of a shocking loss to a Bonneville team that had not won in nearly two years. It doesn't get any easier tonight when Pocatello visits. The Russets absolutely need a win to prove that their 5-0 start wasn't a fluke. The Thunder, on the other hand, are ready to prove that they are for real and that they will be a tough out for any team that faces them come playoff time.

5A District Tournaments
The 5A SIC District Tournament kicks off Friday with play-in games featuring the 5 through 12 seeds. The winners of Friday's games will meet the top 4 finishers in the conference on Saturday. Timberline, Borah, Boise and Rocky Mountain are the teams that clinched first round byes. In the Inland Empire League, look for Lake City to be the favorite with their crosstown rival Coeur d'Alene as an other team to watch. In the High Country Conference, four of the five teams are evenly matched and could win districts, so look for an exciting tournament in eastern Idaho.
4A District Tournaments
The Inland Empire League looks to be Sandpoint's to win, while the SIC seems to be headed toward a matchup between Bishop Kelly and Caldwell for the district championship. In the Great Basin Conference, Canyon Ridge and Wood River advanced in Wednesday night's games and now face top seeds Jerome and Twin Falls on Friday. Preston and Pocatello will meet on Friday to continue the District 5 tournament. The winner of that game will advance to the district title game. Just a little further north in District 6, look for Skyline and Hillcrest to do well.
3A District Tournaments
Three teams define the race in the Intermountain League: Timberlake, Coeur d'Alene Charter and Bonners Ferry. Weiser looks to be the Snake River Valley Conference favorite, while a similar assessment can be made with Sun Valley Community School in the High Desert Conference. In District 5, American Falls advanced to the championship with a 6-0 win over Marsh Valley. Teton and Sugar-Salem look to be the two favorites in the Mountain Rivers Conference. The two split their regular season series this year.

5A District Tournaments
In the SIC, seeds 5 through 12 will compete in play-in games Friday, with seeds 1 through 4 awaiting quarterfinal matchups on Saturday based on those results. The teams with first round byes are Rocky Mountain, Boise, Timberline and Mountain View. Up north in the Inland Empire League, Lake City looks to be the clear favorite. They have not lost since their season opener in August against Sandpoint. The High Country Conference starts its district tournament on Saturday and after an undefeated season, Highland looks like the runaway favorite.
4A District Tournaments
In the Inland Empire League, Sandpoint notched an undefeated regular season and looks to be the clear favorite not just in their district, but possibly the entire state after winning it all in 2019. The SIC, meanwhile, is more wide open. Bishop Kelly and Vallivue tied for the conference regular season title and look like the frontrunners, but Middleton or Columbia could possibly shake up that picture. In the Magic Valley, Jerome and Wood River came away victorious in first round games on Wednesday and now face top seeds Twin Falls and Canyon Ridge, respectively, on Friday. In the Southeastern Idaho Conference, Pocatello looks to be the favorite and will face crosstown rival Century on Friday. Skyline's only real threat in the High Country Conference is Bonneville, and that district tournament kicks off Saturday.
3A District Tournaments
Coeur d'Alene Charter looks to run away with the Intermountain League as they continue their march towards a sixth straight state title. Fruitland has a similar stronghold on their conference as they try to sweep their way through districts and challenge CDA Charter at state. In the High Desert Conference, Kimberly looks to be the favorite but Sun Valley Community School is also in the discussion. In District 5, top-seeded Marsh Valley plays American Falls on Saturday, and the winner of that match will advance to the district title game. In the Mountain Rivers Conference, all eyes are on Sugar-Salem and Teton.

I Pink I Can Tournament (at Butte County High)
Saturday
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and what better way to support the cause than with a volleyball tournament. Twelve teams will meet at Butte County High School, including 11 varsity teams and Butte County's JV.
Wasatch Festival (at Skyridge High in Lehi, Utah)
Friday and Saturday
Bonneville, Madison, Shelley and Thunder Ridge will represent Idaho at the Wasatch Festival over the weekend. This will serve as a great tune-up against non-Idaho schools before district tournament play begins.
