Football

Rocky Mountain Rumble

Beaver, UT vs. Marsh Valley (1:00 PM Friday)
Morgan, UT vs. Sugar-Salem (4:00 PM Friday)
Green Canyon, UT vs. Skyline (7:00 PM Friday)

Lehi, UT vs. Coeur d'Alene (11:00 AM Saturday)
Ogden, UT vs. Pocatello (2:00 PM Saturday)
Alta, UT vs. Highland (5:00 PM Saturday)
Bear River, UT vs. Madison (8:00 PM Saturday)

The Rocky Mountain Rumble will feature three defending state champions (Skyline, Sugar-Salem and Beaver, Utah), as well as one state runner-up in Morgan, Utah.  The Utah schools have all played two games up to this point, while this will mark the first outing of the season for the Idaho schools (except Highland, who fell 12-7 to defending 5A state champion Rocky Mountain last Saturday.)

Elko, NV at Middleton
6:00 PM Friday
Watch Live

Elko played a shortened spring schedule and posted a 2-4 record, while Middleton played a traditional fall schedule last year.  The Vikings compiled a 6-4 record and lost in the first round of the 4A playoffs to conference foe Nampa.  The Elko Indians will be a great opponent for Middleton to build some momentum as they look to rebound from a disappointing campaign by their standards in 2020.

Kuna at Lewiston
7:00 PM (PST) Friday
Watch Live

Kuna will head up north to face the Lewiston Bengals.  They met in the season opener last year in Kuna, and Lewiston escaped with a 37-30 win.  Kuna is trying to rebound from a 1-6 campaign in 2020, while Lewiston is also looking for a better showing after going 3-6.  This is a game that could set the tone for both teams as they head deeper into the season.

American Falls at Aberdeen
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live

Aberdeen is seen by many to be a potential surprise team in 2021, but they will need to navigate past 3A foe American Falls and look impressive in doing so if they really hope to quiet critics and show they can compete with anyone on their schedule.

Mountain Home at Burley
7:00 PM Friday
Watch Live

Mountain Home and Burley posted identical win totals in 2020 (notching three wins each), and both programs will look for more in 2021.  The winner of this game will have a great shot to finish in the upper half of the Great Basin Conference while the loser will have to rebound quickly to avoid finishing in the bottom half of the conference.

Meridian at Mountain View
7:00 PM Friday
Listen Live

5A Southern Idaho Conference competition kicks off with a bang in a game that will have major implications on the landscape of the SIC.  The Warriors and Mavericks are included in many preseason polls, and this early showdown should show that both programs are deserving of such praise.

Sandpoint at Post Falls
7:00 PM Friday
Listen Live

Sandpoint will face a challenging opener as they travel to face Post Falls, the 2nd place finisher in the 5A Inland Empire League in 2020.  Sandpoint, having won the 4A IEL last season, will look to prove it can also play with 5A competition after making a run to the 4A semifinals last season.

Idaho 8-Man Classic

Oakley vs. Lapwai (11:00 AM Saturday)
Lighthouse Christian vs. Kendrick (1:30 PM Saturday)
Raft River vs. Clearwater Valley (4:00 PM Saturday)
Glenns Ferry vs. Prairie (6:30 PM Saturday)

Seven 1A Division 1 schools from the Magic Valley and North Central Idaho, along with 1A D2 Kendrick, will meet in the centralized location of Middleton High School.  All four of last year's 1A D1 state semifinalists (Oakley, Raft River, Prairie and Lighthouse Christian) will be present, as well as two additional 1A D1 playoff teams in Clearwater Valley and Lapwai.  Kendrick also qualified for the 1A D2 postseason a year ago.

Timberline (Weippe) at Logos
2:00 PM Saturday
Listen Live

Timberline went 4-4 last year and qualified for the playoffs before a first round exit against eventual 1A D2 champion Dietrich 52-0.  On the flipside, the Logos Knights are a relatively new football program and will be playing their first varsity game ever.

Boys Soccer

Madison at Lake City (5:00 PM PST Friday)
Thunder Ridge at Post Falls (5:00 PM PST Friday)

Madison at Post Falls (12:00 PM PST Saturday)
Thunder Ridge at Lake City (12:00 PM PST Saturday)

Madison and Thunder Ridge will make the long trip north to face Lake City and Post Falls for rare regular season contests between 5A teams from the East and the North.  Madison is at Lake City Friday night, while Thunder Ridge is at Post Falls.  The matchups will flip on Saturday, with Thunder Ridge playing Post Falls and Madison taking on Lake City.

Skyview at Boise
11:00 AM Saturday

The defending 5A champion Brave have started well in 2021, compiling a 2-0-1 record.  They will try to keep their unblemished mark alive on Saturday against Skyview (2-1) in a non-conference match.

Eagle at Timberline (Boise)
11:30 AM Saturday

The Mustangs (2-1) and Wolves (3-0) have both gotten off to great starts in 2021.  This will be the final non-conference game for both squads.  The two will meet again later in the season in their official "conference" matchup.

Girls Soccer

Madison at Lake City (3:00 PM PST Friday)
Thunder Ridge at Post Falls (3:00 PM PST Friday)

Madison at Post Falls (10:00 AM PST Saturday)
Thunder Ridge at Lake City (10:00 AM PST Saturday)

Similar to the boys' programs, the girls from Madison and Thunder Ridge will also be making the pilgrimage up to northern Idaho.  The girls games will precede the boys games, but the sites will remain the same.  Madison is at Lake City and Thunder Ridge is at Post Falls Friday afternoon, with the matchups flipping on Saturday morning.

Rocky Mountain at Capital
11:30 AM Saturday

The defending 5A champs from Rocky Mountain are 3-1, with their lone loss coming to Lone Peak, Utah in the season opener a week ago.  Capital is also off to a nice 2-1 start.  This non-conference matchup could determine whether Capital is ready to ascend to the top of the SIC this season.

Centennial at Mountain View
11:30 AM Saturday

Centennial (3-0) and Mountain View (2-0-1) have both established themselves as strong teams early on in the 5A SIC.  This is a non-conference matchup, but could set the table for the match later in the year that will count towards the league standings.

Volleyball

Claim Jumper Tournament (South Jordan, UT)
Friday and Saturday

Burley and Skyview will travel to South Jordan, Utah to compete in the Claim Jumper Tournament.  Skyview won the 5A championship last season, while Burley fell to Bonneville in the 4A third-place match.  Both teams will get a great opportunity to test themselves in the talent-heavy state of Utah.

North-South Icebreaker Tournament (South Fremont HS)
Saturday

Several 3A and 2A schools in eastern Idaho will travel to St. Anthony on Saturday to compete in the North-South Icebreaker.  While the tournament will not feature any defending state champions or second-place finishers from a year ago, all of these teams have something to prove and their performance in this tournament could give you an idea of whether or not you will see them at state.

Judy Fong Memorial Tournament (Lewiston HS)
Saturday

Multiple northern Idaho schools ranging from Class 5A all the way down to 1A will descend upon Lewiston for the annual Judy Fong Memorial Tournament.  Fong was the longtime volleyball coach at Lewis-Clark State, and passed away in 2014 after battling cancer.  Defending 4A champion Lakeland and 1A D1 runner-up Genesee highlight the list of teams that will take part in this year's tournament.
