Thunder Ridge Titans

The first-ranked Titans went 2-1 over the last week, holding off Highland 3-2 and blanking Hillcrest 3-0. But the Titans fell to the state’s best team, falling 3-0 to the undefeated Bonneville Bees.

Mountain View Mavericks

The undefeated Mavs rose through the Southern Idaho Conference ranks in the early weeks of the season, going a perfect 3-0 against teams like Rocky Mountain and Centennial. In the last two contests, junior Naya Ojukwo recorded 27 kills and six blocks, while Megan Tollinger racked up 22 kills and 27 digs.

Mountain View takes on Meridian Tuesday and Eagle Thursday.

Bonneville Bees

Bonneville enacted its revenge on Thunder Ridge, blowing out the one team that managed a regular season win against the Bees — Thunder Ridge. Bonneville is off to an 8-0 start, its best since 2018.

The Bees take on Hillcrest Tuesday before Friday’s Bonneville Classic.

Parma Panthers

Kamille Crawford’s squad defeated the Payette Pirates Monday 25-8, 25-8, 25-12.

Brooke Johnson led the team with seven kills and two blocks, while Katie Compas racked up 19 assists, five kills and three aces.

The undefeated Panthers have a tilt with Homedale scheduled for Thursday.

Homedale Trojans

The Trojans defeating Marsing 25-18, 25-10, 25-22 last Thursday, inching Homedale back to .500 before opening conference play against Parma.

“We are very excited to play them, we know both are strong programs, with great athletes. I am excited to see what we can do,” said Coach Evonne McGuire. “If we play the way I know we can, I expect both to be very exciting matches.”

Against Marsing, Katie Christofferson led the scoring effort with 11 aces and eight kills.

West Side Pirates

While the Pirates continue to dominate on the gridiron, West Side’s volleyball team has scorched teams in the first weeks of the season, earning a 5-1 record to start the year.

West Side blanked its first four opponents before falling to Bear River out of Utah. But the Pirates’ in-state record remains perfect, as the squad defeated Kimberly and Snake River last Wednesday.

West Side takes on Bear Lake Wednesday and Preston Saturday.

Troy Trojans

There’s a two-team battle up north for the top spot in the 1ADI Whitepine League. The Tojans and Genesee Bulldogs are on a collision course for Tuesday in a battle of the northern unbeatens.

The two undefeated teams gained a sizable lead in the league race. The Trojans through their first four contests, have yet to yield a set.

Castleford Wolves

The Wolves have racked up the most win in 1ADII play, winning eight-straight matches to start the year.

In their most recent matchup, the Wolves defeated the Dietrich Blue Devils 25-6, 25-10, 25-20. Zailee Poulson recorded 11 kills and three aces, while Eden Schilder followed up with seven kills and 14 digs.
