Idaho Falls - School District #91 in Idaho Falls has announced that the 50th 'Emotion Bowl' between Skyline and Idaho Falls has changed the kickoff time for this season's game.
"The time for the upcoming Emotion Bowl has been changed to accommodate students who are taking the ACT college placement test on Saturday, Oct. 25," said Kerry Martin, Athletics Coordinator for District 91. "The game will now be played at 4 p.m. at Ravsten Stadium."
The annual rivalry game between the Idaho Falls Tigers and the Skyline Grizzlies was changed to a Saturday afternoon game this year and moved to the end of the football season. Kickoff was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. to ensure the game was finished by dark.
The Emotion Bowl historically has been played on a Saturday afternoon. Making it an afternoon game again should better accommodate the thousands of people who attend the matchup. It also will make it easier for the game management staff responsible for managing the crowds of spectators during the competition.
High school coaches and administrators have requested the Emotion Bowl be the last game of the season so families are encouraged to check testing schedules and plan accordingly in future years.
