Welcome to "Primetime Pitchers", where each week, we'll highlight the top pitching performances across baseball and softball diamonds around the state of Idaho.

We will select one pitching performance for each day of the week.  Think of it as the best pitching line for that particular day.

Without further ado, let's get to it!

BASEBALL

Kai Jones, 11, Highland (Monday, April 27)

With Highland seeking a spot in the 6A District 4-5-6 championship series, Jones delivered, helping Highland eliminate Madison 11-0.  Jones pitched all five innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out eight Bobcats.

Gavin Wienker, 12, Post Falls (Tuesday, April 28)

Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene put on quite the pitchers' duel in their best-of-three game series opener for the 6A District 1 championship.  Coeur d'Alene's Bam Fenter pitched all seven innings, and allowed one hit with 15 strikeouts and three walks.  But his one hit allowed was crushed for a home run by Post Falls' Marshall Tomlinson, and that ultimately was enough as the Trojans won 1-0.  Wienker matched Fenter frame for frame, pitching all seven innings and allowing no runs on just two hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Teague Fox, 12, North Star Charter and Andrew Marron, 10, North Star Charter (Wednesday, April 29)

This dynamic duo combined for a no-hitter in North Star Charter's 2A District 3-4 tournament opener, a 22-0 shutout of Notus.  Fox started the game, and allowed just one walk in three innings of work, to go along with eight strikeouts.  Marron relieved Fox for the final two innings, and struck out one while hitting two batters.

Holdyn Higley, 12, Malad (Thursday, April 30)

Higley pitched a complete game shutout for Malad in their 3A District 4-5 tournament opener against Lighthouse Christian.  In the 10-0 victory, Higley allowed two hits over five innings, with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Carter Bowen, 12, Bonneville (Friday, May 1)

Bowen saved his best for last, as he tossed a five inning no-hitter in the 5A District 6 championship game, a 16-0 triumph over Hillcrest.  Bowen allowed one walk and struck out 12 in the no-no.

Jaxson Brady, 11, Bishop Kelly (Saturday, May 2)

Brady pitched a complete game shutout as Bishop Kelly defeated Vallivue 2-0 to clinch second place at the 5A District 3 tournament and earn an automatic bid to the State Regional Tournament.  Brady went seven innings, allowing three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

SOFTBALL

Gracie Longhurst, 11, Bonneville (Monday, April 27)

Longhurst tossed six innings of shutout ball in Bonneville's 7-0 win over Shelley.  The junior allowed one hit with 12 strikeouts and no walks.

Gracie Longhurst, 11, Bonneville (Tuesday, April 28)

For the second day in a row, Longhurst makes our list.  This time, Longhurst made it one inning further, as she pitched a complete game, tossing seven innings in Bonneville's 3-1 win over Idaho Falls.  The senior allowed one run on just three hits, with ten strikeouts and two walks.

Charlee Stewart, 9, Glenns Ferry (Wednesday, April 29)

The freshman threw a five inning no-hitter as Glenns Ferry blanked Notus 16-0.  Stewart walked four batters and hit a fifth, but otherwise
allowed no hits and struck out ten.

BrieLynn Jones, 10, Timberlake (Thursday, April 30)

Jones threw a seven inning no-hitter in Timerlake's 12-1 win over St. Maries.  The run was unearned, and only came about because of three Timberlake errors defensively.  In fact, without the errors, Jones' no-hitter could have been a perfect game, as she walked no one and hit no
batters.  Most impressive about this no-no?  Jones had 20 strikeouts (there were only 21 outs to be recorded).

Charlee Stewart, 9, Glenns Ferry (Friday, May 1)

Stewart makes our list for the second time after another no-hitter, this time against Horseshoe Bend, the second-place team in the conference.  In the Pilots' 16-0 win, Stewart fanned nine and walked four in five innings of work.

Erica Fielding, 10, Firth (Saturday, May 2)

Fielding pitched a complete game as Firth turned back Ririe 9-1 in their 3A District 6 tournament opener.  Fielding pitched seven innings and allowed one unearned run on two hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
