March 11-16

Welcome to "Primetime Pitchers", where each week, we'll highlight the top pitching performances across baseball and softball diamonds around the state of Idaho.

We will select one pitching performance for each day of the week.  Think of it as the best pitching line for that particular day.

If you'd like to nominate a Primetime Pitcher, send an email to brandon@idahosports.com.

Without further ado, let's get to it!

BASEBALL

Luke Nelson, 12, Teton and Sage Woolstenhulme, 10, Teton (Monday, March 16)

This Teton duo combined to throw a no-hitter in a 21-1 win over American Falls.  Nelson tossed three immaculate innings, which featured all nine outs recorded via strikeout.  Woolstenhulme added two innings of no-hit ball.  Four walks from Woolstenhulme eventually led to an unearned run scoring, but those walks were offset by three strikeouts, as well.

Darrien Pecunia, 12, Payette and Gauge Christy, 11, Payette (Tuesday, March 17)

Another day, another combined no-hitter, this time in Payette's 16-0 shutout of Ontario (Oregon).  Pecunia threw four hitless innings, with four walks the only blemishes on his line.  Pecunia struck out nine out of 12 batters.  Christy followed that up with one clean inning with one strikeout.

Carson Kile, 11, Cole Valley Christian (Wednesday, March 18)

Kile twirled a no-hitter for the Chargers in their 16-0 win over Weiser.  Kile went all five innings, with six strikeouts and only three walks.

Brock Bowman, 12, Bonneville (Thursday, March 19)

Three no-hitters during the first three days of the week are nice, but Bowman upped the ante with a perfect game against Capital in an 11-0 victory.  Bowman went five innings and faced the minimum total of 15 batters.  10 of the 15 outs recorded came via strikeout.

Mason Taylor, 10, Homedale (Friday, March 20)

Taylor engineered the Trojans to a 7-1 win over Marsh Valley.  Along the way, Taylor tossed six innings, yielding just four hits while striking out ten Eagles.

Jordan Bingham, 12, Twin Falls (Saturday, March 21)

Twin Falls slipped past Willamette (Oregon) 2-1, and Bingham's efforts on the mound contributed in a major way.  Across six innings of work, Bingham allowed one unearned run on just two hits, to go along with six strikeouts and zero walks.

SOFTBALL

Wesli Crockett, 12, Parma (Monday, March 16)

Crockett steered the Panthers to a 13-3 win over Homedale, tossing six innings and earning the win.  Crockett allowed three runs (two earned) and scattered seven hits, while striking out ten and walking two.

Traylee Reid, 11, Blackfoot (Tuesday, March 17)

Reid threw six innings of two-hit ball in the Broncos' 14-0 win over Madison.  She struck out seven Bobcats while walking four.

Olivia Rogers, 10, Gooding (Wednesday, March 18)

Rogers pitched a no-hitter against Wendell in a 10-0 victory.  Across six innings, two walks were the only blemishes on Rogers' day.  Additionally, the sophomore struck out 17 batters.

Hailey Brennan, 11, Owyhee (Thursday, March 19)

Brennan threw a perfect game, and Owyhee needed it in a 3-0 nail-biter with Middleton.  Brennan went the distance, finishing all seven innings with 17 strikeouts.

Madi Janicek, 12, Weiser (Friday, March 20)

Janicek tossed a one-hitter against Moscow in a 16-0 win.  Across five innings, the senior struck out 12 Bears and walked just one.

Madi Janicek, 12, Weiser (Saturday, March 21)

Janicek improved upon her one-hitter by throwing a perfect game in Weiser's 12-0 win over Teton.  She struck out five over five innings of work.
