Smoke Reshuffles Week 4 Football Schedules
With wildfires in the Northwest impacting air quality, teams around Idaho have rescheduled or canceled Friday's games

As wildfires across the western United States bring clouds of smoke into the Gem State, Idaho sports programs have been forced to adapt.

IdahoSports.com will live webcast both matchups. Kendrick and Troy are slated to kickoff at 4 p.m. PST. Lewiston and Lakeland will kickoff at 7 p.m PST.   In North Idaho, two matchups — Lewiston vs. Lakeland and Kendrick vs. Troy — will move indoors to the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome. As of Thursday afternoon, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality measured an air quality index of 169 in Coeur d'Alene and 173 in Moscow, both falling into the “unhealthy” category.

According to Lakeland High School, the “home team” for Friday’s game, 400 tickets will be allocated for Hawk fans. Tickets will only be available for purchase at the gate, and masks will be required for all attendees. The same will be true for fans on the Lewiston side, said Bengal Head Coach Matt Pancheri. Kendrick Head Coach Zane Hobart said masks will also be required at the 4 p.m. game. For Friday's football slate, Boise School District announced via Twitter an orange air quality index meant outside competitions would continue as planned.

But in North and East Idaho, matchups in counties with an unhealthy air quality index reading resulted in cancellations or rescheduling. Below are football games that have either been rescheduled or cancelled as of Friday afternoon.
