6A State Third Place Game | #2 Rigby 63, #4 Coeur d'Alene 34
One night after suffering their first loss of the season in the semifinals, the Rigby Trojans finished strong in the 6A State Third Place Game, as they turned back the Coeur d'Alene Vikings, 63-34.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Brinley Larsen finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Lauren Burnside (13 points), Bailey Barber (12) and Kinzley Larsen (11) all reached double figures for Rigby, as well.
Coeur d'Alene's junior standout Brookeslee Colvin did not play in the contest. In her absence, Lexie Wheeler paced the Vikings with 23 points.
5A State Third Place Game | #1 Lakeland 54, #3 Blackfoot 53
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Presley Fagan was the hero for the Lakeland Hawks. Fagan's three-point shot as time expired lifted the Hawks past the Blackfoot Broncos, 54-53, in the 5A State Third Place Game.
Fagan finished the contest with 17 points, while freshman Jaeli Hoffman added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Blackfoot's Oakley Talbot led all scorers with 24 points.
4A State Third Place Game | #3 Timberlake 56, #4 Marsh Valley 50
The Timberlake Tigers grabbed an early lead and never relinquished it, trailing just once in a 56-50 win over the Marsh Valley Eagles in the 4A State Third Place Game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Macy Murphey finished with 16 points and six rebounds for Timberlake. Sophie Holecek tallied a double-double of 13 point and ten rebounds, and Shae Jones added 13 points as well.
Marsh Valley's Zayli Merzlock led all scorers with 24 points.
3A State Third Place Game | #4 Grangeville 55, #2 Firth 47
The Grangeville Bulldogs sprinted past the Firth Cougars in the fourth quarter to earn a 55-47 win in the 3A State Third Place Game.
Grangeville outscored Firth in the pivotal fourth frame, 17 to 7. They also forced 20 turnovers in the win.
Caryss Barger scored all 17 points for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, earning IdahoSports.com Player of the Game honors. Barger finished with 20 total, while Autumn Long added 18 points.
Firth's Daisha Sorensen finished with 17 points for the Cougars.
2A State Third Place Game | #1 Butte County 53, #2 Oakley 46
The Butte County Pirates caught fire in the second half of the 2A State Third Place Game, shooting 42% from three-point range in the second half in a 53-46 win over the Oakley Hornets.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Brynn Andersen torched the nets for 25 points, while Autumn Gamett chipped in 11.
Taylin Beck scored 17 points to pace Oakley.
1A State Third Place Game | #1 Salmon River 42, #2 Mackay 39
The 1A State Third Place Game featured four ties and nine lead changes, and the Salmon River Savages survived a nail-biter over the Mackay Miners, 42-39.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Rylee Walters finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks, and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line. Poppy Harper added ten points in the win.
Alyssa Pehrson scored 14 points to lead Mackay.
CONSOLATION FINALS
6A State Consolation Final | #7 Boise 32, #8 Madison 27
The Boise Brave outlasted the Madison Bobcats in a grueling 6A State Consolation Final, 32-27.
After the two sides battled to a 6-6 draw after one, Boise surged past Madison in the second quarter, outscoring the Bobcats 12-3 to take an 18-11 lead at halftime.
Madison stormed back in the third quarter, outscoring Boise 15-10 to draw within two points at 28-26, but Boise held on in a low-scoring fourth frame, outscoring Madison 4-3 to earn the win.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Nya Pellant-Latham tallied a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Brave as a team out-rebounded Madison 40 to 24.
Madison was paced by Sloan Humpherys' ten points and five rebounds.
5A State Consolation Final | #5 Jerome, 37, #7 Bishop Kelly 34
Deadlocked at 28-28 heading into the fourth quarter of play, the Jerome Tigers made enough plays late to hold off the Bishop Kelly Knights in the 5A State Consolation Final, 37-34.
Jensen Cook turned in a solid all-around line of ten points, ten rebounds, six steals and three assists, and was named IdahoSports.com Player of the Game. Sawyer Garrard finished one rebound shy of a double-double, totaling 12 points and nine boards.
Bishop Kelly's Aubree McCarthy led all scorers with 17 points.
4A State Consolation Final | #8 Kimberly 62, #6 Weiser 56
The Kimberly Bulldogs swiped 16 steals in a narrow 62-56 win over the Weiser Wolverines in the 4A State Consolation Final.
Taya Plew exploded for 29 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, earning IdahoSports.com Player of the Game honors. Brooklyn VerWey added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Alyvia Goff (17 points), Porter Hart (13) and Ellie Shirts (10) reached double figures for Weiser.
3A State Consolation Final | #4 Ririe 49, #7 West Side 40
The 3A State Consolation Final was not decided until the fourth quarter, as the Ririe Bulldogs and West Side Pirates traded blows. Ririe eventually pulled away for the 49-40 win.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Eden Jensen scored 16 points in the win, while Niciyah Young added a double-double of 12 points and ten rebounds.
West Side's Miley Cundick led all scorers with 19 points.
2A State Consolation Final | #7 Liberty Charter 43, #5 Lakeside 38
The Patriots of Liberty Charter crashed the glass in a 43-38 triumph over the Lakeside Knights in the 2A State Consolation Final.
The Patriots out-rebounded the Knights, 54 to 30.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Sophie Criddle finished with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Aveyah Flores nearly joined her with 11 points and nine boards.
Kyleigh Wolfe scored 16 for Lakeside.
1A State Consolation Final | #3 Carey 49, #5 Rockland 26
The Carey Panthers rebounded from Friday's semifinal loss with an emphatic 49-26 win over the Rockland Bulldogs in the 1A Consolation Final.
Carey reeled off an 18-0 run at one point in the contest, and forced 19 turnovers defensively.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Ali Simpson finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Andie Simpson scored 14 points and dished outs six assists, and Jocelyn Ruiz contributed ten points and five rebounds.
Rockland freshman Mahana Hatch scored ten points to pace the Bulldogs.
