DAY ONE RECAPS

 

6A State Semifinal | #1 Eagle 76, #4 Coeur d’Alene 47

The Eagle Mustangs, scoring 19 points off turnovers, rolled to a dominant 76–47 win over the Coeur d’Alene Vikings in the 6A State Semifinals.

The matchup was competitive early, as both teams traded the lead four times in the opening quarter and it looked like Coeur d’Alene might be able to hang with the top-seeded Mustangs. After the first eight minutes, however, Eagle began to assert control, building a 39–21 halftime advantage. Things continued to go south for the Vikings in the second half as Eagle outscored them 37–26 to secure the comfortable victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Taya Nelson, led the charge for the Mustangs with 33 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Berkley Jones was also huge for Eagle, posting a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double.

For Coeur d’Alene, Brookeslee Colvin finished with 21 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

Eagle advances to the 6A State Championship Game on Saturday, where they will face #3 Middleton.

Coeur d’Alene will play #2 Rigby in the 6A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

6A State Semifinal | #3 Middleton 60, #2 Rigby 43

The Middleton Vikings, converting 31 points at the free-throw line, defeated the Rigby Trojans 60–43 in the 6A State Semifinals.

Middleton surrendered the lead just once in the contest, quickly regaining control in the first quarter and never looking back. The Vikings led by nine after the opening period, and Rigby was able to keep it within reach heading into halftime, trailing 28–19. Middleton then pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Trojans 14–4, and cruised to the 17-point victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Megan Stewart, recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds. Zoey Blackwell led Middleton in scoring with 21 points.

For Rigby, Kinzley Larsen finished with 12 points.

Middleton advances to the 6A State Championship Game on Saturday to take on #1 Eagle.

5A State Semifinal | #4 Pocatello 52, #1 Lakeland 45

The Pocatello Thunder used a 15–2 second-half run to upset the #1 seeded Lakeland Hawks, 52–45, in the 5A State Semifinals.

The game started at a fast pace, with both teams combining for 52 first-half points and exchanging the lead twice. Pocatello capitalized at the free-throw line with 17 points and dominated the glass, finishing with 52 rebounds to help seal the upset.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Abby Lusk, delivered a dominant performance with 26 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals. Madysen Torngren also chipped in a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

For Lakeland, Karstyn Kiefer and Jaeli Hoffman each scored 11 points, while Presley Fagan added 10 points in the loss.

Pocatello advances to the 5A State Championship Game on Saturday, where they will face #2 Sandpoint.

Lakeland will play #3 Blackfoot in the 5A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

5A State Semifinal | #2 Sandpoint 53, #3 Blackfoot 50

The Sandpoint Bulldogs, forcing nine turnovers, held off the Blackfoot Broncos for a thrilling 53–50 win in the 5A State Semifinals.

The game featured 10 lead changes and was tightly contested throughout the first half, with Blackfoot taking a 23–21 lead into the break. Sandpoint opened the second half with a 16–2 run to take a 41–30 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Blackfoot responded with a late 7–0 burst, but the Bulldogs were able to hang on for the victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Jordyn Tomco, exploded for 32 points and 6 rebounds while shooting 11-of-18 from the field. Brecken Mire added 16 points for Sandpoint.

For Blackfoot, Jaci Capson recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Oakley Talbot contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds.

Sandpoint advances to the 5A State Championship Game to play #4 Pocatello on Saturday.

Blackfoot will face #1 Lakeland in the 5A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

4A State Semifinal | #1 Sugar-Salem 62, Marsh Valley 32

The Sugar-Salem Diggers, scoring 15 points off turnovers, dominated the Marsh Valley Eagles 62–32 in the 4A State Semifinals.

From the opening tip, the Diggers were in control, jumping out to a 21–9 lead after the first quarter. Sugar-Salem continued its strong play into halftime, leading 29–14, and extended the margin in the second half by outscoring Marsh Valley 33–18.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Andee Petterson, led all scorers with 19 points. Kalena Dayley added 12 points, while Brinley Bradshaw contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds for the Diggers.

For Marsh Valley, Tayzlee Belnap scored 10 points and Zayli Merzlock finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Sugar-Salem advances to the 4A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #2 Bear Lake.

Marsh Valley will play #3 Timberlake in the 4A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

4A State Semifinal | #2 Bear Lake 48, #3 Timberlake 42

The Bear Lake Bears, dominating the boards with 44 rebounds, defeated the Timberlake Tigers 48–42 in the 4A State Semifinals.

Timberlake came out strong, taking a 10–2 lead after the first quarter. Bear Lake responded with a 14–3 run to take a 22–21 halftime lead. The game remained tight into the second half, but the Bears closed strong, outscoring Timberlake 19–11 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Halle Wells, had a dominant performance with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

Macy Murphey led Timberlake with 17 points.

Bear Lake advances to the 4A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #1 Sugar-Salem.

3A State Semifinal | #1 Malad 73, #5 Grangeville 52

The Malad Dragons, getting 19 points from their bench, powered past the Grangeville Bulldogs 73–52 in the 3A State Semifinals.

Malad showed why it earned the top seed, jumping out to a 17–11 lead after the first quarter and dominating the second quarter to take a 37–19 halftime advantage. From there, the Dragons controlled the game the rest of the way to secure the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Brynnlee Jones, led Malad with 19 points. Paityn Ward added 14 points, and Kiley Miller chipped in 11 points.

Caryss Barger led Grangeville with 18 points.

Malad advances to the 3A State Championship Game on Saturday, where it will face #3 Ambrose.

Grangeville will play #2 Firth in the 3A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

3A State Semifinal | #3 Ambrose 57, #2 Firth 54

The Ambrose Archers knocked down eight three-pointers on their way to a thrilling 57–54 win over the Firth Cougars in the 3A State Semifinals.

The game was packed with action and featured nine lead changes. Firth held a narrow 30–28 lead at halftime in a high-scoring first half. Ambrose outscored the Cougars 15–9 in the third quarter, setting up an electric final eight minutes. The Archers were able to hang on late to secure the victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Amelia Alexander, scored 20 points to lead Ambrose. Bryley Tadman added 18 points and 6 rebounds.

For Firth, Daisha Sorensen finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Georgie Jolley added 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Ambrose advances to the 3A State Championship Game on Saturday to play #1 Malad.

Firth will face #5 Grangeville in the 3A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

2A State Semifinal | #4 Prairie 41, #1 Butte County 31

The Prairie Pirates, scoring 13 points off turnovers, pulled off a major upset over the #1 seeded Butte County Pirates, 41–31, in the 2A State Semifinals.

Prairie got off to a blazing start, taking a 10–2 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 19–9 at halftime. Butte County was unable to mount a comeback in the second half as Prairie closed out the upset victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Sydney Shears, led the way with 16 points. Sage Elven added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the Pirates.

For Butte County, Autumn Gammet scored 13 points.

Prairie advances to the 2A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #3 Lapwai.

Butte County will play #2 Oakley in the 2A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

2A State Semifinal | #3 Lapwai 58, #2 Oakley 51 (OT)

The Lapwai Wildcats, scoring 14 points off turnovers, defeated the Oakley Hornets 58–51 in an overtime thriller in the 2A State Semifinals.

Lapwai started strong, leading 17–11 after the first quarter, but Oakley responded in the second to tie the game at 27–27 by halftime. The teams traded blows throughout the second half, and the game was tied at 46 at the end of regulation. Lapwai took control in overtime, outscoring Oakley 12–5 to seal the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Madden Bisbee, finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds while going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, including a pair of free throws to tie the game at 46-46 with just 2.1 seconds to play in regulation. Taya Yearout added 16 points, and Lois Oatman contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds.

For Oakley, Livee Berlinguet scored 16 points, while Addy Maseda posted 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Lapwai advances to the 2A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #4 Prairie.

Oakley will play #1 Butte County in the 2A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

1A State Semifinal | #4 Deary 44, #1 Salmon River 41

The Deary Mustangs, scoring 16 second-chance points, stormed back to defeat the #1 seeded Salmon River Savages 44–41 in a comeback thriller in the 1A State Semifinals.

Salmon River jumped out to a 13–6 lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 27–16 midway through the third quarter, appearing to be in control. Then the Mustangs mounted an 11–0 run to close the gap heading into the fourth quarter and completed the comeback down the stretch.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Kaylee Wood, scored 17 points to lead Deary. Payton Reynolds added 15 points and 11 rebounds.

For Salmon River, Rylee Waters finished with 20 points and Kennedy Harper added 10 points.

Deary advances to the 1A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #6 Nezperce.

Salmon River will play #2 Mackay in the 1A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

1A State Semifinal | #6 Nezperce 52, #2 Mackay 40

The Nezperce Nighthawks, scoring 17 points off turnovers, continued their upset run with a 52–40 win over the Mackay Miners in the 1A State Semifinals.

After a tight first quarter that ended 9–8 in favor of Mackay, Nezperce flipped the momentum with a dominant 21–1 second quarter to take a 29–10 lead at halftime. Mackay made a push in the third quarter, but the deficit proved too much as the Nighthawks closed out the upset victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Avery Lux, led Nezperce with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Kairys Grant added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

For Mackay, Alyssa Pehrson scored 15 points and Danika Seefried added 14 points.

Nezperce advances to the 1A State Championship Game on Saturday to face #4 Deary.

Mackay will play #1 Salmon River in the 1A State Third Place Game on Saturday.

 
Consolation Games


6A State Consolation Game | #8 Madison 38, #5 Borah 30

The Madison Bobcats, grabbing 32 rebounds, secured a 38–30 upset victory over the Borah Lions in the 6A State Consolation Round.

The game was very tight in the first half, and although the Bobcats only surrendered the lead once, both teams were firmly in contention. The second half told a different story, as Madison outscored Borah 8–2 in the third quarter and clung to the lead the rest of the way to earn the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Mia Walsh, led the way for Madison with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Aspen Boice also contributed 9 points in the victory.

For Borah, Abi Howington finished with 8 points and 3 steals.

Madison advances to the final round of the 6A State Consolation Bracket, where they will face #7 Boise on Saturday.

6A State Consolation Game | #7 Boise 42, #6 Timberline 34

The Boise Brave knocked down seven three-pointers in their 42–34 win over the Timberline Wolves in the 6A State Consolation First Round.

This matchup was a defensive battle from the start, as both teams exchanged leads in the first half and Boise held a narrow 16–14 advantage at the break. More lead changes followed in the second half, but the Brave took control late in the third quarter and held on down the stretch to secure the victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Ashlyn Waldrum, recorded 15 points and 3 assists to lead Boise. Scarlett Meyer added 8 points.

For Timberline, Lexi Moore had 11 points and 5 rebounds.

Boise advances to the 6A State Consolation Final to take on the #8 seeded Madison Bobcats on Saturday.

5A State Consolation Game | #5 Jerome 56, #8 Columbia 25

The Jerome Tigers, dominating the glass with 45 rebounds, cruised to a 56–25 wire-to-wire win over the Columbia Wildcats in the 5A State Consolation Round.

Columbia kept things close early, trailing just 13–10 after the first quarter. Jerome took control in the second quarter, building a 27–13 lead by halftime. The Tigers overwhelmed the Wildcats in the final 16 minutes, outscoring Columbia 29–12 in the second half to seal the blowout victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Sawyer Garrard, led Jerome with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jensen Cook and Peyton Thompson each added 10 points for the Tigers.

For Columbia, Gabby Nabors scored 9 points.

Jerome advances to the 5A State Consolation Final to face #7 Bishop Kelly on Saturday.

5A State Consolation Game | #7 Bishop Kelly 47, #6 Hillcrest 43 (OT)

The Bishop Kelly Knights, pulling down 43 rebounds, defeated the Hillcrest Knights 47–43 in an overtime classic in the 5A State Consolation Round.

The game featured numerous lead changes and remained close throughout. Bishop Kelly led 18–17 at halftime before Hillcrest made a run in the third quarter to take the lead heading into the fourth. The Knights rallied late to force overtime and did just enough in the extra period to come away with the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Reagen Williams, posted 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Bishop Kelly. Alaina Stiffler added 11 points.

For Hillcrest, Kaia Kesler scored 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while McKenzie Gatluak recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Bishop Kelly advances to the 5A State Consolation Final to face #5 Jerome on Saturday.

4A State Consolation Game | #8 Kimberly 77, #5 Fruitland 43

The Kimberly Bulldogs, scoring 31 points off turnovers, dominated the Fruitland Grizzlies 77–43 in the 4A State Consolation Round.

The #8 seeded Bulldogs came out firing and never relinquished the lead, jumping out to a 30–10 first-quarter advantage and never looking back. Kimberly outscored Fruitland in every quarter on the way to the decisive victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Taya Plew, delivered a standout performance with 33 points and 9 steals. Brooklyn VerWay added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

For Fruitland, Payson Bratcher finished with 11 points.

Kimberly advances to the 4A State Consolation Final to take on #6 Weiser on Saturday.

4A State Consolation Game | #6 Weiser 55, #7 Filer 39

The Weiser Wolverines opened the game on a 19–1 run and never looked back in a 55–39 win over the Filer Wildcats in the 4A State Consolation Round.

Weiser controlled the game from the start and never surrendered the lead, with the fast start proving too much for Filer to overcome. The Wolverines led 29–10 at halftime, and although Filer made multiple attempts to rally in the second half, Weiser maintained control to close out the victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Ellie Shirts, scored 20 points to lead the Wolverines. Alyvia Goff added 13 points and 8 rebounds.

For Filer, Tanli LeMoyne recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Weiser advances to the 4A State Consolation Final to face #8 Kimberly on Saturday.

3A State Consolation Game | #4 Ririe 49, #8 Kellogg 36

A dominant 24–3 run lifted the Ririe Bulldogs to a 49–36 win over the Kellogg Wildcats in the 3A State Consolation Round.

Ririe never gave up the lead, but Kellogg put together a strong first half, trailing just 18–17 at the break. The Bulldogs then took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 21–2, and cruised the rest of the way to the victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Eden Jensen, scored 21 points, including four three-pointers. McKall Marsh added 12 points and 8 rebounds for Ririe.

Gretah Angle led Kellogg with 17 points.

Ririe advances to the 3A State Consolation Final to face #7 West Side on Saturday.

3A State Consolation Game | #7 West Side 53, #6 New Plymouth 50

The West Side Pirates, grabbing 56 rebounds, edged the New Plymouth Pilgrims 53–50 in the 3A State Consolation Round.

The game featured nine lead changes and was tightly contested throughout. New Plymouth held a slight edge in the first half and led 30–28 at the break. West Side continued to battle in the second half, with both teams trading runs, before the Pirates finished strong in the final quarter to secure the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Miley Cundick, led West Side with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Bentley Cundick added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the Pirates.

For New Plymouth, Hope Hailey and Maycee Christiansen each scored 17 points, with Christiansen also adding 7 rebounds.

West Side advances to the 3A State Consolation Final to play #4 Ririe on Saturday.

2A State Consolation Game | #5 Lakeside 61, #8 Vision Charter 42

The Lakeside Knights, scoring 21 points off turnovers, defeated the Vision Charter Eagles 61–42 in the 2A State Consolation Round.

The game was highly competitive in the first half, with both teams exchanging the lead before Lakeside took a 28–24 advantage into the break. The Knights blew the game open in the second half, using a 17–2 run to pull away and secure the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Kyleigh Wolfe, had a stellar all-around performance with 24 points, 6 steals, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. Laila SiJohn added 16 points, and Saydee Peone contributed 12 points for Lakeside.

For Vision Charter, Aubrie Parrish recorded 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Abby Porterfield added 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Lakeside advances to the 2A State Consolation Final to face #7 Liberty Charter on Saturday.

2A State Consolation Game | #7 Liberty Charter 46, #6 Victory Charter 43

The Liberty Charter Patriots, forcing 24 turnovers, held off the Victory Charter Vipers 46–43 in the 2A State Consolation Round.

The game featured 11 lead changes, beginning with Victory Charter taking a 15–13 lead after the first quarter. Liberty Charter responded in the second quarter to take a 25–19 halftime lead. Both teams traded blows in the third, with the Patriots holding a narrow 33–32 advantage entering the fourth. In a hard-fought final eight minutes, Liberty Charter did just enough to hang on for the win.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Maci Nicley, finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Rylee Camarillo added 10 points, while Aveyah Flores contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds for the Patriots.

For Victory Charter, Tamaya Rogers led the way with 16 points and 17 rebounds, and Leah Ray added 12 points and 5 rebounds.

Liberty Charter advances to the final round of the 2A State Consolation Bracket to face #5 Lakeside on Saturday.

1A State Consolation Game | #5 Rockland 54, #8 Kootenai 20

The Rockland Bulldogs, scoring 21 second-chance points, dominated the Kootenai Warriors 54–20 in the 1A State Consolation Round.

Rockland got off to a strong start, leading 14–8 after the first quarter while forcing constant pressure that resulted in 18 total turnovers. The Bulldogs held a 28–17 halftime lead before completely taking over in the second half, outscoring Kootenai 26–3 to seal the blowout victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Brilee Steidley, recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists to lead Rockland. Off the bench, Belle Schmidt added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Mahana Hatch contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds.

For Kootenai, Brooklyn Charles finished with 5 points and 10 rebounds.

Rockland advances to the 1A State Consolation Final to play #3 Carey on Saturday.

1A State Consolation Game | #3 Carey 60, #7 Dietrich 33

The Carey Panthers, scoring 21 points at the free-throw line, defeated the Dietrich Blue Devils 60–33 in the 1A State Consolation Round.

Carey never surrendered the lead, jumping out to a 19–10 advantage in the first quarter and extending it to 30–18 by halftime. Dietrich was unable to generate momentum in the second half as the Panthers cruised to the decisive victory.

The IdahoSports.com Player of the Game, Andie Simpson, led Carey with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 12 made free throws. Kenzie Hennefer and Ali Simpson each added 11 points for the Panthers.

Ana Bingham led Dietrich with 9 points.

Carey advances to the 1A State Consolation Final to face #5 Rockland on Saturday.
