District Volleyball Brackets Available Here

Conference games were played...district games were played...district tournaments continue and will finish out this week...Needless to say, emotions are high and it's coming down to the last two weeks of high school volleyball for the 2022-23 season (or, as some would say, the best two weeks of high school volleyball!)

Stay tuned as district brackets get updated and our state tournament brackets begin to fill in.  We will keep you updated every step of the way.

This year, there are many powerful undefeated teams in their respective districts and it's setting up to be one of the best postseasons yet!

CLASS 5A

Madison keeps performing consistently well and beat Highland and Rigby last week.  The Bobcats are at the top of the rankings for not only 5A volleyball, but the entire statewide rankings for Idaho as well.  Their record correctly reflects their performance and they continue to play at a high level.

Eagle is another name you'll hear a lot in the volleyball world as they are close behind Madison in the statewide rankings, as these two teams are closely ranked in the 5A power rankings as well.  Eagle defeated Mountain View and Nampa last week as they continued their conference winning streak.  Rocky Mountain is another powerful team in District 3 and they are trying to earn their ticket to state this week as well.  They picked up conference wins over Borah and Capital last week.

Lake City is pulling ahead in their district, defeating both Post Falls and Lewiston last week.  This gives the Timberwolves only one conference loss on the season and the top seed going into districts.

CLASS 4A

Pocatello played Century in a very emotional match last Tuesday.  It was a five set nail-biter that went back and forth until the very end, with the Diamondbacks winning the battle.

After attending one of the most prestigious tournaments in high school volleyball, the Geico Invitational, Skyview is still working toward one of their primary goals this week: earning their ticket to state in order to compete for the title.  Skyview was placed as 4A's number one team in the preseason and hasn't moved from that position, as their only losses came from out-of-conference opponents.  Skyview went to Vallivue last week and won the match in three sets.

Canyon Ridge, Bonneville and Lakeland remain at the top of their districts.  The Riverhawks and Bees won all of their conference matches last week, while Lakeland lost in a tight match to Moscow.

CLASS 3A

Fruitland is the top seed in District 3 and has remained steady throughout the season.  On Saturday, they faced Parma in the semifinal round of the district tournament.  They defeated the Panthers, which puts them in the district championship match against Weiser this upcoming Thursday.  Fruitland is undefeated in conference play and is playing very consistent volleyball!

Snake River won their first district tournament match at home against American Falls on Saturday.  The Beavers will face Marsh Valley on Tuesday; the winner will play Snake River in the District 5 championship.

The Cougars of South Fremont faced Teton and Sugar-Salem at the District 6 tournament on Saturday and came home with two big wins!  They will host the district championship Tuesday against the winner of Sugar-Salem and Teton.

At the District 4 tournament, Kimberly defeated Buhl in a clean sweep and Filer won a five-set battle against Gooding.  This sets up the Bulldogs vs. Wildcats and the Indians vs. Senators this Tuesday!

Bonners Ferry won their match against Timberlake, sweeping the season series in the two-team District 1.  These two will face off again in a best-of-three district tournament series starting Tuesday!

CLASS 2A

Declo went 1-1 last week.  They won the conference match against Wendell, but fell in a non-league match with Buhl.  They are the top team in District 4 and head into the district tournament undefeated in conference play.

St. Maries has a similar story as they, too, are undefeated in conference play.  Last week, the Lumberjacks won both of their conference matches against Grangeville and Priest River.

Melba is yet another undefeated team at the top of their respective conference.  The Mustangs defeated two district rivals last week (New Plymouth and Nampa Christian.)

Malad hosted the first day of the District 5 tournament on Saturday.  The Dragons defeated Aberdeen in the opening round, while West Side won their match against Bear Lake.  This places Malad and West Side in the undefeated semifinal of the district tournament on Tuesday.

Ririe is another dominant team in 2A volleyball.  The Bulldogs faced West Jefferson and Firth last week, and took the 'W' against both conference foes.  Salmon is a close second behind Ririe in this district, as they defeated Firth and North Fremont last week.

CLASS 1AD1

Butte County keeps their top seed status in District 5-6 as they defeated the other two members of their league (Grace and Challis) last week.

Wallace earned a signature win in District 1 against Genesis Prep last week.  The two teams split the season series, each winning once.  Wallace earned the top seed at districts due to a tiebreaker, but there's no doubt that their tournament battle will be fun to watch this week!

Oakley is still the dominant force in 1AD1 volleyball, and they beat Valley last week.  They will face Lighthouse Christian tonight in their district tournament opener.  Murtaugh is another team to watch in District 4, and they will open districts with Hansen tonight.

Rimrock earned the top seed in District 3, as they went undefeated in conference play.  They beat Gem State in their district tournament opener before dispatching Wilder in the semifinals.  Now the Raiders move on to face Liberty Charter in the championship this Tuesday.  The Patriots are ranked second in the district right behind Rimrock so the battle Tuesday will be a must see matchup!

In District 2, Troy brought home two conference wins last week and is another name to keep an eye on in the 1AD1 classification.  They are undefeated in league play and remain high in the rankings for their district, their classification,  and in the entire state of Idaho.

CLASS 1AD2

Horseshoe Bend defeated Cascade and Tri-Valley last week.  They continue to play steady, high-level volleyball ahead of the District 3 tournament.

In the opening round of the District 5-6 tournament, Rockland swept Clark County, Mackay won their match against Taylor's Crossing, Grace Lutheran defeated North Gem, and Leadore got revenge against Watersprings, who had defeated the Mustangs one week prior.  This sets up the semifinals of Rockland vs. Leadore and Grace Lutheran vs. Mackay today (Monday, October 17th) at Watersprings High School.  All four teams are capable of winning, and with only two state tournament spots available from this district, the later rounds of this tournament will be fun to watch!

Clark Fork and Richfield remain undefeated in conference play ahead of their district tournaments this week.  Kendrick went undefeated in District 2 play during the regular season, but was upset by St. John Bosco at the district tournament on Saturday.  The Tigers will now try to battle back through the consolation side of the bracket.
