5A Semifinals | Centennial 61, Rigby 53

Centennial’s Cinderella run continued Friday night as the Patriots registered a 61-53 win over Rigby and booked a ticket to Saturday night’s 5A state championship game.

Tyler Shipp, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, pumped in a team-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Kaden Christensen and Hayden Fletcher added 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Centennial (17-10).

Rigby (17-9) was led by Karson Barber and his game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Kunze added 14, while Jakobe Jones had 13 in the losing effort.

5A Semifinals | Owyhee 53, Meridian 50 (2OT)

Second-seeded Owyhee blew a 15-point halftime lead before hitting its final four free throws to defeat Meridian 53-50 in double overtime and dethrone the reigning 5A champs.

Owyhee (24-3), which won its two previous meetings with Meridian this season, needed extra time to finish off the pesky Warriors.

Meridian (18-10) held a 50-49 lead with just over a minute to play before they were done in by a pair of turnovers and a steal. Owyhee took full advantage of the miscues, hitting all four of its final attempts from the charity stripe.

In regulation, the Warriors’ Zeke Martinez hit a 3-pointer with just under two minutes to play to tie the game at 44. Neither team could muster any more offense, sending the game into overtime.

Titus Bailey, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, finished with 18 points to lead Owyhee. Jack Payne added 11 for the Storm.

Ethan Pearce led Meridian offensively with 17 points, while Martinez added 12.

Now Owyhee, in the school’s inaugural season, will square off with surging Centennial for the title Saturday night.

5A Consolation Round | Lake City 62, Eagle 53

After a stunning exit as the 5A tournament’s top seed, Lake City rebounded in the consolation round, bouncing Eagle 62-53.

Nathan Hocking, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, scored 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lead Lake City (23-3). Kolton Mitchell and Zach Johnson scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Eagle, which ends its season at 20-6, was led by Donovan Jones with 16 and Gage Jones with 13.

5A Consolation Round | Madison 43, Mountain View 42

After stumbling in the first round, Madison avoided another upset in the consolation round when Mountain View missed a layup at the buzzer to hold on for a 43-42 victory.

Madison (19-7) was led by Logan Crane with 12 points. Berrett Wilson earned Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors by coming off the bench to score 11 and spark a slugging Bobcat offense.

Mountain View (15-12) was led by Nate Ojuwku with a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds.

4A Semifinals | Hillcrest 50, Middleton 41

Isaac Davis’s monster game propelled Hillcrest over Middleton 50-41, placing the Knights into the state championship game on Saturday.

Hillcrest broke open a tight game late after holding a three-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Davis, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, scored 23 points to go along with 15 rebounds and four blocks, despite missing the entire second quarter because of early foul trouble. He was also a perfect 7-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Hillcrest (25-2) also got nine points from Cooper Kesler and six from Kobe Kesler.

Middleton (24-3), which will play in the third-place game on Saturday, was led by Tyler Medaris with 13 and Talmage Stucki with 11.

4A Semifinals | Pocatello 75, Jerome 72

Ryan Payne scored 19 points, including 17 in the second half, as Pocatello held off Jerome’s furious comeback attempt 75-72 and claimed a spot in Saturday title game.

Pocatello (24-3) was led offensively by Julian Bowie’s 24-point performance to go along with his eight rebounds.

Payne, who took home Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors, hit a pair of 3-pointers and was 4 of 4 from the charity stripe to help the Thunder close out the win.

Scott Cook led Jerome (24-3) with a game-high 34 points and five rebounds. Schuyler Mower added 16 for the Tigers.

4A Consolation Round | Bishop Kelly 41, Vallivue 32

Bishop Kelly rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit, holding Vallivue scoreless over the final quarter on its way to claiming a 41-32 victory. The Knights (20-6) entered the fourth quarter trailing by three before outscoring Vallivue 12-0.

Blake Hawthorne earned Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors with a 15-point performance. Tommy Hunter and Hank Lodge added seven points apiece.

Vallivue (14-13) was led by Jace Martinez and Jakin Calhoun with eight and seven points, respectively.

4A Consolation Round | Moscow 63, Burley 59

Jamari Simpson scored 17 points to lead Moscow past Burley 63-59 to earn a berth in the consolation finals.

Simpson, who was awarded the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, was 3-of-6 from 3-point range for Moscow (16-11). Bryden Brown and Tyler Strong added 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Burley (11-15) was led by Adam Kloepfer’s game-high 18 points. Stockton Sheets added 14 and Stockton Page contributed 13.

3A Semifinals | Kimberly 45, Marsh Valley 36

Kimberly upset top-seeded Marsh Valley 45-36 to book its spot in Saturday’s championship game.

The Bulldogs (18-6) were led by Idaho Sports Player of the Game Jaxon Bair, who scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Jake Lloyd had 14 points and one block.

Stanton Howell scored 15 points to lead Marsh Valley (23-3), while Michael Belnap chipped in 10.

3A Semifinals | McCall-Donnelly 54, Snake River 52

McCall-Donnelly rallied from five points down in the fourth quarter to force overtime before edging Snake River 54-52 to advance to the state championship game on Saturday.

D.J. Green, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, finished with 30 points and eight rebounds to lead McCall-Donnelly (21-2). He also had two steals and was a perfect in 13 attempts from the free throw line. Alex Johnson added 10 points.

Snake River (23-7) was led by Conner Fitzgerald with 14 points. Cole Gilbert added 12 points.

3A Consolation Round | Bonners Ferry 70, Fruitland 62

Riley Petesch came off the bench to score 12 points and lift Bonners Ferry past Fruitland 70-62 and into the consolation championship game on Saturday. Petesch, who was 6-of-8 shooting along with two boards and a pair of assists, took home Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors.

Bonners Ferry (14-10) was led offensively by Braeden Blackmore with 15, while Asher Williams chipped in 11.

Fruitland (18-9) was paced by Tyler Capps and Jacob Hamann with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

3A Consolation Round | Homedale 50, Sugar Salem 46

Homedale bounced back after a heart-breaking double overtime loss in the first round on Thursday to squeeze past Sugar Salem 50-46 and book a date in the consolation finals.

The Trojans (15-11) were led by Idaho Sports Player of the Game Jaxon Dines, who had 23 points and three steals in the victory. Trenton Fisher added seven.

Sugar Salem (12-14) got 13 points from Toby Pinnock and 10 from Porter Holt in the losing effort.

2A Semifinals | Melba 61, North Fremont 51

Joe Reiber scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to spark Melba past top-seeded North Freemont 61-52 and earn a berth in the state title game.

Reiber, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, scored 13 points in the decisive third quarter after spending the entire second quarter on the bench due to early foul trouble.

Melba (23-2) was also led by Braden Volkers with 15 points and Tucker Lowber with 11.

North Fremont (23-3) got 19 points from Jordan Lenz, while Max Palmer chipped in 14.

2A Semifinals | St. Maries 59, West Side 50

Tristan Gentry-Nelson secured a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as defending state champions St. Maries beat West Side 59-50, earning a chance at back-to-back titles.

St. Maries (21-3) raced out to an early 18-6 lead before West Side fought back to within seven before halftime. But the Pirates (20-9) never could retake the lead as the Lumberjacks salted the game away.

Colby Renner and Greyson Sands finished with 15 and 14 points, respectively, for St. Maries.

West Side was paced by Ryker Love and Bryler Shurtliff with 12 points apiece.

 
2A Consolation Round | Ambrose 61, Valley 38

Hudson Hughes recorded a double-double to lead Ambrose past Valley 61-38 and into the consolation finals on Saturday.

Hughes, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, led the Archers (21-5) with 25 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sam Turley and Tyson Hughes added nine and eight points, respectively.

Valley, which finishes its season at 16-10, was led by Jadon Johnson and Kyle Christensen with 11 points apiece.

2A Consolation Round | Bear Lake 52, Firth 45

Tyler Beresford scored 16 points as Bear Lake handled Firth 52-45, booking the Bears a slot in Saturday’s consolation final.

Bear Lake (13-14), which held a commanding 33-16 halftime lead, also got nine points from Tayson Neal and seven from Brady Shaul.

The Bears will face Ambrose in the consolation championship game at 10 a.m.

Firth (16-12) was led by Burton Park with 15 points and Kyle Jacobsen with 11.

1AD1 Semifinals | Lapwai 79, Logos 43

After a sluggish start, top-seeded Lapwai roared back in the second half, cruising past Logos 79-43 to advance to the state finals on Saturday.

Kase Wynott earned Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors with a 26-point performance for Lapwai (28-0). Titus Yearout contributed 15, while Kross Taylor and Terrell Ellenwood-Jones added 12 and 10, respectively.

Logos (17-8) was led by Roman Nuttbrock with 11 points. Ben Druffel had 10 for the Knights, who fall into the third-place game Saturday.

1AD1 Semifinals | Kamiah 42, Grace 40

Kamiah overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to rally past Grace 42-40 and advance to the state finals on Saturday.

The Kubs (20-6) were led by Idaho Sports Player of the Game Kavan Mercer with 11 points and two assists, while Lukas Krogh added 10.

Grace (20-6) was led by Payson Andersen with 15 points and four rebounds.

1AD1 Consolation Round | Oakley 36, Lighthouse Christian 32

Oakley stormed back from an early first-quarter deficit before rallying again late to hold off Lighthouse Christian 36-32 and advance to the consolation finals.

Payton Beck, who garnered Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors, led the Hornets offensively with 15 points. He also had five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Oakley (17-7), which trailed by 11 after the first quarter and were losing by one entering the fourth, also got nine points from Isaac Cranney.

Lighthouse (13-13) was led by Jack DeJong with 12 points and Sam Rogers with seven.

1AD1 Consolation Round | Rimrock 52, Liberty Charter 46

Gus Black registered 18 points and grabbed 10 boards for a double-double, helping the Raiders defeated Liberty Charter 52-46 and advance to the consolation finals on Saturday.

Black, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, shot 8 of 10 from the floor. Rimrock (13-6) also got 10 points from Alex Martinez and eight from Aden Aquiso.

Liberty Charter (18-7) was led by Dallin Criddle with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

1AD2 Semifinals | Camas 62, Council 40

Troy Smith scored 17 points to power Camas past Council 62-40 and give the Mushers a berth into the state title game on Saturday.

Smith, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, hit a pair of 3-pointers as well for Camas (23-3). Breken Clarke led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Emmett Palan contributed 11.

Council (19-5) was paced by Josh Gipe and Macen Glenn with eight points each.

1AD2 Semifinals | Rockland 63, Carey 62 (OT)

Rockland’s Brigham Permann sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation, capping a frenzied fourth-quarter rally, before the Bulldogs prevailed in overtime, defeating Carey 63-62 to earn a spot in Saturday’s title game. Rockland (23-3) was led by Teague Matthews with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Permann, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, had 16 points before fouling out in overtime. Brandon Neal added 12.

Carey (21-7) led for almost the entire game before succumbing in overtime.

The Panthers were paced by Carsn Perkes with 21 points and six rebounds, while Chase Bennion and Ashton Drage added 15 and 13 points, respectively.

1AD2 Consolation Round | North Gem 64, Cascade 48

Chayce Low scored 23 points to led North Gem past Cascade 64-48 to put the Cowboys in the consolation finals on Saturday.

Low, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, hit five 3-pointers to lead North Gem (18-6). Bridger Hatch added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Tyler Thurston led Cascade (14-12) with a game-high 24 points. Samuel Huckaby added eight.

1AD2 Consolation Round | Kendrick 52, Timberline 32

Kendrick held Timberline scoreless in the first quarter, building an insurmountable 16-0 lead on the Tigers’ way to a 52-32 victory.

Kendrick (13-10), which was led by Idaho Sports Player of the Game Ty Koepp with 18 points, will advance to the consolation finals. Jagger Hewett added 10 points for the Tigers.

Timberline (13-13) was led by Parker Brown with 12 points.
