As a team, what are your offensive strengths? I will be running many different styles of offense from continuous plays to set plays. Hope to get some perimeter play from our guards and inside play from our posts.
Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year: Fundamentals, motion offense, attacking the basket. Learning more about the game of basketball and understanding situational basketball. Staying consistent from game to game and opponent to opponent.
As a team, what are your defensive strengths? Zone Defense
Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year: Man and mixing it up on defense with man, zone, and pressure.
Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season? Tradition starts today
What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team? Working with the girls and improving from day to day. They are competitive and eager to learn more about the game. They get along with each other on and off the court.
For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule? Gooding- We are evenly matched and head coach came from there. They were competitive games last year.
What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team? Improving every day, being competitive, going at game speed in practice will help stimulate that to game situations. It will take many hours and preparations to reach our goal.
Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball? I have a passion for the game and I have been involved with basketball since I was little. I hope to bring enthusiasm to the girls and teach them the game as well as life lessons.
What makes your school the best place to coach for? The community is supportive and the girls are excited for the season. The girls get along on and off the court and make it a great place to coach.
