The Idaho High School Activities Association and its Board of Directors has approved the 2016 Milk Bowl site rotation for the upcoming state football tournament. The rotations were finalized at the recent IHSAA Board of Directors meeting on Sept. 27 in Twin Falls.
The six area districts in Idaho are combined into three regions for rotation purposes, and are as follows:
North Region - Districts 1 & 2
West Region - District 3
East Region - Districts 4, 5, & 6
The IHSAA does not allow championship games to be held in the same location two years in a row unless the two teams are from the same geographical region.
There is one potential conflict this year with any games scheduled to be held at Boise State's Albertsons Stadium. The Broncos host UNLV on Friday, Nov. 18, which would conflict with the state championships. As a result, any state championship contests scheduled to be played in Boise could be moved to nearby Dona Larson Park or Treasure Valley area high schools. Also, there is the potential of having the state championship contest(s) on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Albertsons Stadium. The same is true for any games scheduled at Holt Arena in Pocatello as the Idaho State Bengals host Weber State on Saturday, Nov. 19. If any state championship contests are scheduled for Holt Arena, they will most likely be played on Friday, Nov. 18. There are no conflicts at the Kibbie Dome this year as the Idaho Vandals have a bye week during that weekend.
With that, here are the 2016 Milk Bowl Site Rotations.
