1
Post Falls Girls Send Lake City Home With Last-Second Shot
In a do-or-die district tournament game, Post Falls' girls basketball team knocked out Lake City 60-59, thanks to a three-point shot from Annabelle Tucker with just 18 seconds to play.
The Coeur d'Alene Press noted that Tucker scored a career-high 29 points for Post Falls.
The Trojans will now face Coeur d'Alene in a best-of-three game series for the Class 6A District 1 championship.
DISTRICT 2
Logos' Elena Spillman Sets New School Record With 37 Points In Single Game
Logos' girls basketball team defeated Clearwater Valley last week, 50-22.
Along the way, Elena Spillman set a new school record with 37 points in the win.
The night was even more special, as Spillman, Logos' lone senior, was honored on Senior Night prior to the game.
On the same night, Kendrick's Nathan Tweit crossed 1,000 career points in the Tigers' 69-23 win over Troy, according to the Lewiston Tribune.
DISTRICT 3
Boise, Eagle Surge Into 6A SIC Championship Game
Fifth-seeded Boise and second-seeded Eagle advanced the Class 6A District 3 (Southern Idaho Conference) Championship Game with impactful semifinal victories.
The Brave clipped top-seeded Middleton 59-51, while Eagle defeated seventh-seeded Rocky Mountain 67-41, thanks in part to junior Berkley Jones' 42 points.
The Idaho Statesman said that both teams have also qualified for the 6A State Tournament.
DISTRICT 4
Kimberly Junior Titus Osterman Commits To University Of Washington Football
Kimberly's Titus Osterman, considered one of the top prospects in Idaho's Class of 2027, officially signed to play linebacker with the University of Washington.
KMVT reported that Osterman accumulated 96 tackles and two blocked field goals last season for the Bulldogs.
On offense, the wide receiver caught 15 touchdown passes, and also filled in at quarterback early in the season when starter MacRaye Bruning was out with an injury.
DISTRICT 5
Bear Lake's Halle Wells Crosses 1,000 Career Points
During Bear Lake's recent victory over Marsh Valley, junior standout Halle Wells officially crossed 1,000 points in her outstanding career.
A starter since day one of her freshman year, there's a great opportunity for Wells to continue to add on to her impressive career total, with an entire senior season still ahead.
The Idaho State Journal reported that the 6-foot-1 Wells also averages 2.9 blocks per game, third in the state overall.
DISTRICT 6
Ririe Brothers Balance Basketball With Farming
Brothers Jordan and Logan Hamilton are busy guys.
Both lead varsity boys basketball programs; Jordan at Ririe, Logan at Madison.
Both also help out on their parents' 6,000 acre farm, growing potatoes, wheat, barley, alfalfa and canola.
East Idaho News caught up with both brothers and detailed the balance necessary to pull off such a complicated arragnement.
