The 2025 high school outdoor track and field season came to an end for dozens of Idaho athletes June 19-22 in Eugene, Ore., at Nike Outdoor Nationals. The meet took place at historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.
It was the second meet this month for Highland's Spencer Van Orden, who will be a senior in the fall. Van Orden competed June 8 at the invite-only Brooks PR Invitational in Renton, Wash., placing second in the boys 110-meter hurdles final in 13.45, an improvement on his previous all-time Idaho best in the event. At Nike Outdoor Nationals, Van Orden represented Ram TC and placed sixth in the championship boys 110 hurdles final in 13.89 and ninth in the championship boys 400 hurdles final in 51.99. Van Orden is Idaho's all-time leader in the boys 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and 400 hurdles and he concludes the 2025 season having won all but two 110 hurdles finals and all but one 300 hurdles final he competed in this spring.
Representing Orchard Athletix club, Behr Scott, who just completed his freshman year at Mountain View, won the Nike Outdoor Nationals freshman boys 100 meter final in a personal best 10.83. Fellow Orchard Athletix and Mountain View teammate Quincy Keller, who just completed her junior year and is No. 2 all-time in Idaho in the girls 200 meters and tied for No. 2 all-time in the girls 100 meters, placed fourth in the championship girls 100 final in 12.00. Blake Sheets, who just completed his freshman year at Owyhee, was sixth in the freshman boys 100 final in 11.27.
Idaho's all-time record list got tweaked at Nike Outdoor Nationals. Representing North Idaho Distance Project club, recent Coeur d'Alene graduate Max Cervi-Skinner placed sixth in the championship boys 3,000-meter final in 8:12.03, surpassing 2014 Timberline graduate Andrew Rafla (8:21.85) and 2015 Pocatello graduate Elijah Armstrong (8:24.16) for No. 1 all-time on record in Idaho in the event, and placed ninth in the championship boys 5,000 final in 14:35.60 (No. 2 all-time on record in Idaho behind Armstrong's 14:28.97). His North Idaho Distance Project teammate Wyatt Carr, who just completed his sophomore year at Coeur d'Alene, was right behind him in 10th in 14:38.31 (No. 3 all-time in Idaho) in the 5,000 final.
Also representing North Idaho Distance Project, Annabelle Carr placed 13th in the championship girls 800 final in 2:10.54, which is No. 2 all-time on record in Idaho behind 2022 Boise graduate Logan Smith (2:09.07). Carr, who just completed her junior year at Coeur d'Alene Charter, also placed third in the emerging elite girls 1-mile final in 4:57.16 (No. 8 all-time on record in Idaho), which converts to 4:55.58 for the 1,600 (No. 16 all-time on record in Idaho). Fellow North Idaho Distance Project teammate and recent Coeur d'Alene graduate Kyle Rohlinger placed ninth in the championship boys 2k steeplechase finals in 6:10.18 (No. 4 all-time on record in Idaho). Fellow recent Coeur d'Alene graduate and North Idaho Distance Project teammate Mitchell Rietze placed seventh in the emerging elite boys 3,000 final in 8:34.28 (No. 10 all-time on record in Idaho).
Also representing North Idaho Distance Project was Reagan Meine, who just completed her junior year at Coeur d'Alene Charter. She placed fifth in the emerging elite girls 400 hurdles final in 1:03.56 (No. 2 all-time on record in Idaho).
Representing Orchard Athletix, recent Owyhee graduate Wade Pollock placed seventh in the emerging elite boys 110 hurdles final in 15.03.
Recent Rocky Mountain graduate Timothy Price placed second in the emerging elite boys triple jump final with a mark of 46 feet, 3-5 inches.
Competing unattached, Mattea Nuhn, who just completed her sophomore year at Moscow, placed sixth in the emerging elite girls high jump final upon clearing 5-1.25.
Recent Burley graduate Alex Rushton, who is the second Idaho boy on record to clear seven feet in high jump, placed eighth in the championship boys high jump final upon clearing 6-8.25.
Teton teammates Clare Hunter, Clara NyKamp, Stella Pistoresi and Meg Woodbury placed eighth in the emerging elite girls 4x400 final in 4:06.
