BOISE 49, MADISON 46: A 20-point second quarter set the tone for No. 6 seeded Boise in a first-round upset of No. 3 seeded Madison.
The Brave survived six lead changes and three ties to hand the Bobcats their third loss of the season. Neither team ever built a double-digit lead in the game, which was tight throughout.
Boise's Eli Rich received IdahoSports Player of the Game for his defense, finishing the game with four steals and four rebounds along with four points. Teammate Will Gebert had 19 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Isaac Thacker added 13 points, four rebounds and two assists for Boise (12-14), which plays No. 2 seeded Lake City in Friday's semifinals.
Nash Humpherys had 25 points, four rebounds and two steals while Carter Lerwill added 13 points for Madison (21-3), which plays District 6 foe and No. 7 seeded Thunder Ridge in Friday's consolation bracket.
LAKE CITY 63, THUNDER RIDGE 48: No. 2 seeded Lake City shot 45.6 percent from the field and built a lead as large as 23 points in a first-round win over No. 7 seeded Thunder Ridge.
The Timberwolves, who led 36-20 at halftime, snagged 36 rebounds in the win.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Jordan Carlson had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, Cason Miller had 16 points and three assists, Joshua Wilson had 15 points and six rebounds and Reese Strawn added 10 points and four assists for Lake City (20-4), which plays No. 6 seeded Boise in Friday's semifinals.
McKay Scoresby had 17 points and six rebounds and Deegan Branson added 11 points and two assists for Thunder Ridge (13-12), which plays District 6 foe and No. 3 seeded Madison in Friday's consolation bracket.
OWYHEE 49, BORAH 40: No. 1 seeded Owyhee defeated No. 8 seeded Borah to pick up its 11th consecutive win and remain undefeated versus Idaho 6A opponents this season.
The Storm went 16-of-22 from the free throw line and scored 10 points off turnovers. Borah led 40-35 early in the fourth quarter before Owyhee went on a 14-0 to end the contest.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Logan Haustveit scored 12 points and had eight rebounds, Jayce Allen had 11 points and five steals and Boden Howell had 10 points for Owyhee (21-4), which plays No. 4 seeded Timberline in Friday's semifinals.
Dylan Luekenga had 13 points and nine rebounds and Hendrix Castro had 13 points and for assists for Borah (11-14), which plays No. 5 seeded Meridian in Friday's consolation bracket.
TIMBERLINE 60, MERIDIAN 53: No. 4 seeded Timberline made 11 3-pointers and shot 42.5 percent from the field in a first round win over No. 5 seeded Meridian.
The teams combined for 19 made 3-pointers, seven lead changes and four ties. The Wolves led 37-29 at halftime after scoring 24 points in the second quarter.

HILLCREST 46, COLUMBIA 37: No. 3 seeded Hillcrest defeated No. 6 seeded Columbia to advance to the state semifinals for the fifth consecutive season.
The Knights pulled away in the fourth quarter to get the first-round win in a game that had four ties and four lead changes.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Tyson Sweetwood had 10 points and six rebounds while Titan Larsen had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds along with three steals for Hillcrest (19-5), which plays No. 7 seeded Twin Falls in Friday's semifinals.
Max Keller had 18 points and Blake Hansen had nine points and 11 rebounds for Columbia (14-13), which plays No. 2 seeded Lewiston in Friday's consolation bracket.
TWIN FALLS 66, LEWISTON 49: No. 7 seeded Twin Falls shot 59.2 percent from the field and defeated No. 2 seeded Lewiston for a first round upset win.
The Bruins worked the boards, outrebounding the Bengals 39-7 in their first opening round win in 10 years.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Trey Billings had a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds, Ty Hess had 17 points and seven rebounds and Ryker Rex had 15 points and six rebounds for Twin Falls (15-9), which plays No. 3 seeded Hillcrest in Friday's semifinals.
Royce Fisher and Jordan Walker each had 14 points for Lewiston (20-5), which plays No. 6 seeded Columbia in Friday's consolation bracket.
PRESTON 64, JEROME 33: No. 1 seeded Preston returned to state after a four-year hiatus and defeated No. 8 seeded Jerome to pick up its 15th consecutive win.
Preston led by as much as 32 points and shot 52 percent from the field for the game.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Parker Galloway came off the bench to score 10 points and Reggie Larsen had 11 points for Preston (23-1), which plays No. 5 seeded Bonneville in Friday's semifinals.
Seth Capps had nine points, five rebounds and two assists and Andrew Wilson added eight points, four rebounds and two steals for Jerome (11-14), which plays No. 4 seeded Middleton in Friday's consolation bracket.
BONNEVILLE 53, MIDDLETON 48: No. 5 seeded Bonneville began its first state tournament appearance in eight years with a first-round win over No. 5 seeded Middleton.
The Bees trailed 28-23 at halftime before using a second-half surge to get the win, including a 20-point fourth quarter. The teams combined for 12 made 3-pointers, four lead changes and four ties.

MCCALL-DONNELLY 48, SUGAR-SALEM 47: No. 6 seeded McCall-Donnelly held on for the first-round upset over No. 3 seeded Sugar-Salem.
The win is the eighth in a row for the Vandals, who advance to the semifinals for the first time in three years.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Michael Foster had 12 points and five rebounds while Sam Penny added nine points, four rebounds and two assists for McCall-Donnelly (15-9), which plays No. 2 seeded Snake River in Friday's semifinals.
Riley Williams had a game-high 19 points and two steals while Hank Carter added 10 points and five rebounds for Sugar-Salem (18-6), which plays No. 7 seeded Filer in Friday's consolation bracket.
SNAKE RIVER 61, FILER 44: No. 2 seeded Snake River got a combined 52 points from the trio of Dawson Jackman, Marcus Cooombs and Bridjer Howard in an opening round win over No. 7 seeded Filer.

WENDELL 53, NEW PLYMOUTH 42: No. 3 seeded Wendell made eight 3-pointers and scored 22 points off turnovers in a first-round win over No. 6 seeded New Plymouth.
The Trojans, who led 26-19 at halftime, went on a 17-3 run at one point.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Jonathan Swainston had 17 points, five rebounds, six steals and went 3-of-8 from 3-point range, Jordan Swainston had 15 points and Jarrett Borges had 14 points, four rebounds and went 3-of-9 from 3-point range for Wendell (18-6), which plays No. 2 seeded Firth in Friday's semifinals.

The Hornets were a force on the glass, outrebound the Maniacs 50-23. Declo also scored 26 points in the paint and 15 points off 10 Orofino turnovers.

KENDRICK 67, HAGERMAN 42: No. 3 seeded Kendrick shot 56.3 percent from the field and built a lead as large as 31 points en route to a first-round win over No. 6 seeded Hagerman.
The Tigers scored 22 points in the first quarter to take a 40-16 halftime lead. Kendrick also scored 28 points off 20 Hagerman turnovers.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Ralli Roetcisoender had 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, Maddox Kirkland had 16 points, three assists and two steals and Cade Silflow had 13 points and four steals for Kendrick (18-7), which plays No. 7 seeded Grace in Friday's semifinals.
Casen Knight had 13 points and six rebounds while Martin Gonzalez had 12 points and five rebounds for Hagerman (16-9), which plays No. 2 seeded Valley in Friday's consolation bracket.
GRACE 43, VALLEY 34: No. 7 seeded Grace pulled off arguably the biggest upset of day one by handing No. 2 seeded Valley its first loss of the season.
The Grizzlies started to rally in the second quarter, going on to build a lead as large as 16 points over the Vikings. Grace endured four lead changes and four ties in the win and shot 41.2 percent from the field in the second half compared to Valley's 14 percent.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Jamie Smith had seven points and three steals, all of which came in the third quarter, and Braden Kimball added 12 points and three assists for Grace (13-13), which plays No. 3 seeded Kendrick in Friday's semifinals.

CHALLIS 58, WATERSPRINGS 56 (OT): No. 6 seeded Challis outlasted fellow District 6 opponent, No. 3 seeded Watersprings, for a first-round win.
The Vikings and Warriors made a combined 20 3-pointers in the game. This was Challis' first win over Watersprings in three meetings this season.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Jacen Farr had 24 points, seven rebounds and went 6-of-10 from 3-point range while Brayden Ollar added 12 points and four assists for Challis (15-11), which plays No. 2 seeded Rockland in Friday's semifinals.

ROCKLAND 83, NEZPERCE 40: No. 2 seeded Rockland was dominant in a first round win over No. 7 seeded Nezperce.
The Bulldogs shot 49.2 percent from the field in the win, including 52 percent in the second half, and ended the game with 45 rebounds to Nezperce's 27. Rockland led 49-16 at halftime and made eight 3-pointers in the win.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Woodrow Lowder had 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, Xavier Parrish had 16 points and four steals and went 4-of-6 from 3-point range, Aidan Radford and Hayden Smith each had 10 points for Rockland (21-3), which plays No.6 seeded Challis in Friday's semifinals.

The Blue Devils, who shot 45.3 percent from the field for the game and outrebounded the Saints 48-32, led 34-23 at halftime and held off a 22-point fourth quarter effort by Coeur du Christ.

GARDEN VALLEY 49, CASCADE 44: No. 5 seeded Garden Valley began the state tournament with an opening round win over No. 4 seeded Cascade.
IdahoSports Player of the Game Cody Perrin had 19 points for Garden Valley. Conor Ross added ten points and eight boards for the Wolverines.
The Ramblers were paced by Cole Olson (17 points, five steals) and Will Huckaby (15 points, six rebounds).
