Swimming has only been recognized as an IHSAA-sanctioned championship event since 2018. And every single year since then, Boise High has hoisted the first place trophy, winning their sixth consecutive title in October with 234 points.
The Brave won this title with incredible depth, as Boise only took 1st place in four events overall. But several trickle down point earners helped carry the Brave past second place Coeur d’Alene.
Boise had three relay teams finish at the top of the podium. Tyler Young, Connor Pentzer, Jack Bureau and Christopher Beckley won the 200 Yard Medley Relay; Beckley, Young, Evan Jordan and Jasper Shue also claimed the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay; and Shue, Pentzer, Bureau and Jordan took 1st in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Young, only a sophomore, was the only individual winner for Boise, taking 1st in the 100 Yard Backstroke, while Pentzer, a senior, ended his decorated career with a pair of 2nd place finishes in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 100 Yard Breaststroke.
