5A Consolation Final | Owyhee 43, Rocky Mountain 37
Sixth-seeded Owyhee (18-9) surged past district rival and fifth-seeded Rocky Mountain (18-8) in the 5A Consolation Final at Bishop Kelly High School.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Josie Davis led the way with 11 points and four steals. Riley Beck scored a game-high 16 points, while Syd Rodriguez added ten for the Storm.
Rocky Mountain was led by Logan Sailors’ 15 points.
5A Third Place Game | Boise 53, Rigby 48
One night after Boise (24-2) and Rigby (23-4) fell in heartbreaking semifinal losses, the third-seeded Brave outlasted the fourth-seeded Rigby to earn the 5A third place trophy.
In her final game for Boise High, USC commit and McDonald’s All-American Avery Howell earned IdahoSports.com Player of the Game honors. The 6-foot senior finished with a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds.
Kinzley Larsen scored 18 points for Rigby, while Kambree Barber added 13.
4A Consolation Final | Bishop Kelly 58, Jerome 40
Fifth-seeded Bishop Kelly (20-5) won the 4A consolation title over seventh-seeded Jerome (20-7).
Addy Laible shot 8-of-14 from the floor on her way to a double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds) and IdahoSports.com Player of the Game. Brooke Hutchinson added 15 points for Bishop Kelly.
Jerome’s Emma Allen finished with 15 points for the Tigers.
4A Third Place Game | Pocatello 56, Lakeland 44
When second-seeded Pocatello (19-6) and fourth-seeded Lakeland (14-11) faced off in the regular season, the Thunder prevailed in overtime. No extra session was needed in Saturday’s rematch, as Pocatello again defeated the Hawks to win the 4A Third Place Game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Abby Lusk finished with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. She was 7-of-13 from the floor in th win. Fellow post Kenna Garza also tallied a double-double of 18 points and 12 boards.
Lakeland’s Landree Simon finished one rebound shy of a double-double (16 points, nine boards).
3A Consolation Final | Filer 56, Fruitland 48
Sixth-seeded Filer (16-11) lit up the three-point line in a 3A consolation final win over fourth-seeded Fruitland (13-11).
The Wildcats made 7-of-18 from beyond the arc, and incredibly, IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Hazel Fischer didn’t factor into the three-point barrage for Filer. Fischer finished with a game-high 18 points and ten rebounds, earning the double-double the old-fashioned way.
Fruitland’s Lydia Lindsey finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.
3A Third Place Game | Timberlake 46, Parma 27
Third-seeded Timberlake (18-7) put the clamps on fifth-seeded Parma (19-8) to earn the 3A third place trophy.
Kursten McKellips tallied nine points, three rebounds and two assists, and was named IdahoSports.com Player of the Game. Payton Young led the Tigers with ten points, and Marissa Needs added eight.
Parma shot just 2-of-16 from the floor in the second half of play, and were paced by Sidney Jackson’s nine points.
2A Consolation Final | Melba 50, Soda Springs 45
Fifth-seeded Melba (18-7) rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring sixth-seeded Soda Springs (14-15) 13-6 in the fourth quarter to earn the comeback win.
Ellie Johnson led the charge with 17 points, and was named IdahoSports.com Player of the Game. Tariah Carter added 14 for the Mustangs, while Brooklynn Dayley added 11.
Abby Goodin scored 15 points for the Cardinals.
2A Third Place Game | Cole Valley Christian 49, Grangeville 38
In a rematch from the opening weekend of the season, third-seeded Cole Valley Christian (19-7) took revenge on top-seeded Grangeville (22-4) in a 49-38 win for the 2A third place title.
The Chargers had fallen to Grangeville back in November, but behind IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Hadley Fraas’ double-double of 15 points and ten rebounds, the Chargers won the rematch. Trinity Holsinger added 14 points for Cole Valley Christian.
Madalyn Green finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.
1AD1 Consolation Final | Murtaugh 54, Valley 44
In a battle of District 4 rivals, fourth-seeded Murtaugh (20-5) defeated sixth-seeded Valley (16-11) to win the 1AD1 consolation crown.
Bristyl Perkins came off the bench and provided the Red Devils with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, earning IdahoSports.com Player of the Game honors. Bryleigh Widmier scored a game-high 15 points for Murtaugh, as well.
Valley was led by Joanie Lewis (14 points, five rebounds) and Lexi Huettig (12 points, eight rebounds).
1AD1 Third Place Game | Prairie 60, Oakley 41
Fifth-seeded Prairie (19-8) outscored second-seeded Oakley (18-7) 18-6 in the fourth quarter to win the 1AD1 Third Place Game.
Sage Elven was named IdahoSports.com Player of the Game after finishing with a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds for the Pirates.
Fellow post Kylie Schumacher added 15 points and eight rebounds, while Lexi Schumacher scored 12 points.
Jentry Hawker scored ten points to lead Oakley.
1AD2 Consolation Final | Rockland 62, Salmon River 33
Eighth-seeded Rockland (16-11) used a smothering defense to sprint past sixth-seeded Salmon River (18-8) in the 1AD2 Consolation Final.
Rockland’s 1-2-2 full-court press forced the Savages to commit 26 turnovers, including numerous ten-second violations.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Calyn Permann spearheaded the defensive effort with four steals. She added 15 points and eight assists on offense.
Harmony Boyer scored 14 points off the bench for the Bulldogs, and was joined in double figures by Alex Permann (14) and Sidney Freeman (ten).
Salon River’s Rylee Walters finished with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Ewing added 11 points.
1AD2 Third Place Game | Deary 44, Council 39
Fourth-seeded Deary (16-8) defeated third-seeded Council (12-7) to win the 1AD2 third place trophy.
The second and third quarters were key for the Mustangs, as Deary outscored Council 25-17 over the second and third periods to give them the breathing room they needed.
Kenadie Kirk was named IdahoSports.com Player of the Game after finishing with 16 points and seven rebounds. Madleyn Proctor added 13 points, while Araya Wood finished with 11.
Council had three players nearly register double-doubles, as Ava Eppich (13 points, eight rebounds), Rhianna Iveson (11 points, nine rebounds) and Hope Zollman (nine points, ten rebounds) all turned in fine efforts.
