SOUTHERN IDAHO CONFERENCE
Skyview 47, Columbia 8
The Hawks (3-0, 4-2) in SIC play by totaling 564 yards of total offense in a Thursday night win over Columbia (0-2, 2-3). Cache Beus was 21-of-23 passing for 400 yards and three touchdowns. Mason Krahn hauled in ten passes for 179 yards and a score. Columbia quarterback Jared Payne scored a rushing touchdown for the ‘Cats.
Bishop Kelly 49, Vallivue 0
The Knights (2-0, 5-0) churned out the rushing yardage on Friday night, compiling 331 yards as a team in a win over Vallivue (1-2, 1-4). Peter Minnaert rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns, while Tylan Kaschmitter chipped in with 95 yards and a TD.
GREAT BASIN CONFERENCE
Minico 64, Burley 25
Minico (2-0, 4-2) won its 19th consecutive game over Burley (1-1, 2-3) in the annual River Rivalry series. Preston Sonner-Cranney scored three rushing touchdowns for the Spartans, while Carson Wayment (two) and Paxton Twiss (one) also found the end zone. The Spartans defense also came up with seven takeaways, including a 45-yard pick six from Tucker Arthur. Burley was paced by Bodee Coombes, who rushed for two touchdowns. Quarterback Mack Jensen also rushed for a TD and threw a ten-yard touchdown to Kaleb Strunk.
Canyon Ridge 20, Jerome 12
The Riverhawks (5-0, 1-0) are off to their best start ever, but had to rally to defeat Jerome (0-5, 0-2). The Tigers led 12-7 in the second quarter before Canyon Ridge began their comeback. Conner Willis threw two touchdown passes in the win, and came away with the game-winning quarterback sneak late in the contest.
HIGH COUNTRY CONFERENCE
Shelley 19, Bonneville 0
Shelley (2-0, 3-2) ran the ball effectively and pitched a shutout on defense to stay unbeaten in High Country Conference play. Keaton Trane led Bonneville (1-1, 3-2) with 97 rushing yards. Shelley’s first touchdown came on a blocked field goal in the waning moments of the first half. Shelley didn’t block the kick, though. Rather, the Russets were attempting a field goal when Bonneville came through to block it. Shelley’s holder picked up the loose ball and ran 20 yards for a score.
Skyline 35, Idaho Falls 28
The goalposts at Ravsten Stadium get to stay blue for another year, as Skyline (1-1, 3-2) won the annual Emotion Bowl over Idaho Falls (0-2, 1-4). The Grizzlies led 28-7 before Idaho Falls rallied in the second half to make things interesting. CarMyne Garcia completed 7-of-14 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Zyan Crockett also threw a 31-yard TD to Taylor Demott on a trick play, and caught three passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Amani Morel rushed for 205 yards and two scores, and added three grabs for 90 yards and a TD. Bradley Elison threw a pair of touchdowns (one to Treyden Kirkhma, one to Tayson Kirkham), and also ran for a score in the loss.
NON-CONFERENCE
Post Falls 55, Lakeland 0
Class 5A Post Falls (4-1) scored early and often on its Homecoming night in a win over a short-handed Class 4A Lakeland (3-3). Tevin Burns rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while Isaac McKeown threw for 172 yards and a pair of scores to Asher Bowie. Lakeland was playing without starting quarterback Haydon Benson and starting running back Lovie Weil.
Sandpoint 41, Lewiston 22
Class 4A Sandpoint (2-3) churned out the rushing yardage in a breakthrough win over Class 5A Lewiston (2-3). Kody Brewster (106 yards, 2 TDs), Max Frank (82 yards, 1 TD) and Shane Sherrill (25 yards, 1 TD) all ran hard, and Drew Lehman passed for 71 yards and a score to Brewster. Lewiston’s Drew Hottinger threw a pair of touchdowns to Jayden Cobley, and also ran for a TD.
Lake City 34, Moscow 7
The Class 4A Bears (1-4) struck first on a two-yard run by quarterback Noah Velasco, but Class 5A Lake City (2-3) scored the next 34 points to pick up the win. Avrey Cherry threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns for Lake City. Jacob Hill caught seven passes for 92 yards and two scores Velasco finished with 184 yards passing for the Bears.
Ridgevue 63, Caldwell 26
Once conference rivals, Ridgevue’s (1-3) win over Caldwell (0-5) is non-conference this year due to the Cougars’ decision to compete as an independent team. Cash McKie rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns for the Warhawks, while Izaiah Harper rushed for two scores and caught a third. Caldwell scored on three short rushing touchdowns, and a 23-yard touchdown pass.
Twin Falls 28, Emmett 14
The Bruins (4-1) outscored Emmett (3-2) 28-7 in the first half of play, which was more than enough to power Twin Falls to the win. Wyatt Solosabal and Amos Kun each rushed for 77 yards. Solosabal scored a rushing touchdown, while Grayson Keyes punched it in twice on a pair of short runs. Austin Crum completed 10-of-15 passes for 114 yards, as well. Emmett started its third different quarterback this season in junior Ryder Scheibe. He completed 10-of-17 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns (one to Kenyon Carter, one to Isaac Brennan).
Kimberly 70, Mountain Home 7
Eight different Bulldogs found the end zone in a runaway win for Kimberly (5-0) over Mountain Home (1-4). Kade Larson completed 10-of-14 passes for 216 yards and five touchdowns, while Parker Stringham and MaCraye Bruning also threw touchdown passes. Larson and Damon Taylor each scored on the ground, while Kasen Hammond, Michael Goff, Jackson May, Ayden Heater and Mason Jensen all caught TDs. Ryker Larson grabbed a pair of touchdown receptions.
Hillcrest 21, Pocatello 14
Pocatello (2-2) built up a 14-6 lead on a touchdown run from Ryken EchoHawk and a touchdown pass from Drey Contreras to Julian Bowie. But Hillcrest (5-0) steadily climbed back into the game, and then took the lead for good in the second half of play. Peyton King completed 22-of-32 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns for the Knights. Isaac Davis and Ben Morris each caught a TD, while Jace Jeudy had seven receptions for 78 yards. King also rushed for 61 yards, while Trason Keller added 26 yards and a rushing score.
Madison 20, Preston 15
Class 5A Madison (4-2) used its defense to preserve a narrow win over Class 4A Preston (2-4). The Bobcats came away with five takeaways and a pair of goal-line stands on defense, while Hazen Torgerson and Jett Summers each threw touchdown passes on offense. Torgerson hit Brock Hammond, while Summers connected with Mason Phillips for the game-winning score early in the fourth quarter. Barkley Beck also scored on a TD run. Karson Winder scored both of Preston’s touchdowns, scoring on a two-yard run and an 80-yard pick six that briefly gave the Indians a 15-14 lead.
Rigby 58, Blackfoot 3
Class 4A Blackfoot (0-5) scored the first points of the game on a 35-yard field goal by Javian Ballesteros, but Class 5A Rigby (2-3) piled on the points from there in a Homecoming win. Luke Flowers threw three touchdown passes (to Mason Burgess, Kade Steffler and Drew Caldwell). Caldwell also returned an interception 25 yards for a score. Payton Klingler and Jerzey Duenes each scored rushing TDs. And punter Reggie Groom scored on a fake punt, as he raced 48 yards for a touchdown.
