It’s time for this week’s edition of Primetime Pitchers.  Every Tuesday, we'll recap the five most dominating pitching performances from the past week of baseball competition.

Why five?  Because most pitching rotations carry five players.

I should note that these are single-game performances only.  I don't have the math skills to pull off calculating weekly totals.

If you'd like to nominate an athlete for our Primetime Pitchers list, send an email to

With that said, here's our list of Idaho baseball's Primetime Pitchers, from the week of April 24th to April 29th.  The performances will be listed in chronological order.

1. Levi Anderson, Jr, Moscow

Anderson threw a no-hitter in an Inland Empire League contest against Sandpoint on Tuesday, April 25th.  The contest was tight throughout, with Moscow picking up a 2-0 win, which meant Anderson had to be unhittable.  A lone walk spoiled the perfect game attempt, but Anderson made up for that with ten strikeouts.

2. Drew Hannah, Jr, Orofino

In a 7-0 shutout win over Central Idaho League rival Grangeville on Tuesday, April 25th, Hannah was magnificent.  In seven innings of work, Hannah yielded only hit and one walk to the Bulldogs, and was perfect otherwise.  He also notched eight strikeouts in the victory.

3. Maddox Moore, Jr, Pocatello

In the three-team South East Idaho Conference, every league game matters.  Pocatello picked up a 19-0 win over conference rival Preston on Wednesday, April 26th.  Moore earned the win on the mound after allowing just one hit and three walks over five innings of scoreless ball.  Moore also finished with 7 strikeouts in the victory.

4. Ethan Anderson, So, Marsh Valley

Seeking a win over South East Idaho Conference foe American Falls on Friday, April 28th, the Eagles turned to number three starter, sophomore Ethan Anderson.  And boy, did he deliver.  In five innings of work, Anderson pitched a shutout with just two hits allowed and 11 strikeouts, as Marsh Valley won 10-0.

5. Joseph Bendel, Jr, Troy

Bendel pitched a perfect game on Saturday, April 29th, in a 10-0 Whitepine League win over Genesee.  In five innings of work, Bendel faced the minimum of 15 batters, and retired all 15.  In fact, 12 of the 15 outs came via the strikeout.  With Bendel and fellow Primetime Pitcher Dominic Holden, Troy is looking like a strong favorite to repeat as 1A state baseball champion.
