ORDER GAME PHOTOS

It’s time for this week’s edition of Primetime Pitchers.  Every Tuesday, we'll recap the five most dominating pitching performances from the past week of softball competition.

Why five?  Because most pitching rotations carry five players.

I should note that these are single-game performances only.  I don't have the math skills to pull off calculating weekly totals.

If you'd like to nominate an athlete for our Primetime Pitchers list, send an email to brandon@idahosports.com.

With that said, here's our list of Idaho softball's Primetime Pitchers, from the week of April 3rd to April 8th.  The performances will be listed in chronological order.

1. Taci Watkins, Sr, St. Maries

No pitcher in Idaho accumulates strikeouts like St. Maries’ senior hurler, and Watkins’ talents were on display on Tuesday, April 4th, in a 13-0 Central Idaho League shutout of Kellogg.  Watkins allowed just two hits while striking out 14 batters, a stat that’s more impressive when you consider that Watkins faced just 17 hitters total.

2. Jordyn Torgerson, Sr, West Jefferson

Torgerson is another pitcher that piles up strikeouts like nobody’s business.  In an 18-0 shutout win over Salmon in Nuclear Conference play Tuesday, April 4th, Torgerson tossed a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts.  Like Watkins, Torgerson only faced 17 hitters, so 15-of-17 were finished off via the strikeout.

3. Miah Lusk, Jr, Pocatello

Lusk becomes our first repeat performer on the Primetime Pitchers list.  In a 9-0 non-conference win over Thunder Ridge on Thursday, April 6th, Lusk pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

4. Dani Sitts, Jr, Homedale

Homedale picked up a 17-0 non-conference win over Mountain Home on Friday, April 7th.  Sitts dazzled in the pitcher’s circle, delivering a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts.

5. Adalyn Pearson, Fr, Buhl

Buhl’s freshman allowed a single run (unearned) on just three hits in a 4-1 win over South Fremont at Kimberly’s Lady Dawg Spring Classic Tournament on Saturday, April 8th.  Pearson notched 12 strikeouts against just one walk in the win.
