5A Semifinal | Meridian 71, Mountain View 68
Ryan Baker scored 17 points, Josh Christensen scored 15 points, and Meridian held off a late charge from Mountain View to claim a 71-68 victory in the 5A semifinals on Friday.
With the win, Meridian (16-11) advances to its second title game in three years against Lake City. Meridian won the 2021 clash.
Christensen, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, scored his points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Nate Reynolds and Max Gwilliam added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Logan Haustveit, whose last-second bucket gave Mountain View the victory in the first round, scored 23 points to pace the Mavericks (20-6). Dyson Judd added 15 points, while Owen McBride chipped in 10.
5A Semifinal | Lake City 58, Madison 49
Kolton Mitchell scored 17 points and Lake City pulled away in the second half of the 5A semifinals Friday to defeat Madison and secure a spot in the finals.
Lake City (25-0), which continues its pursuit of a perfect season, was also aided by Idaho Sports Player of the Game Blake Buchanan with 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks. Nathan Hocking added 12 points and Zach Johnson had 10.
Madison (19-7) was led by Nash Humpherys with 19 and Berrett Wilson with 14.
5A Consolation Round | Eagle 46, Highland 43
Landon White scored 18 points to lift Eagle past Highland 46-43 in the 5A consolation round Friday night.
White also pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots in being named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game. Cole Pugh contributed nine points for Eagle (17-10).
Jayden Wright scored 14 to pace Highland (14-14).
5A Consolation Round | Owyhee 43, Timberline 34
Liam Campbell and Jackson Rogers each scored nine points each to lead Owyhee offensively in a 43-34 victory over Timberline in the 5A consolation round Friday night.
Rogers earned Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors for Owyhee (20-6), while Jackson Rasmussen added eight points.
Jachin Mertes tallied 13 points to lead Timberline (17-10).
4A Semifinal | Pocatello 61, Blackfoot 58 (OT)
Julian Bowie drained a 3-pointer with 3.7 seconds left in overtime to give Pocatello a 61-58 win over Blackfoot in the 4A semifinal on Friday.
Bowie, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game and a Boise State commit, finished with 23 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Pocatello (25-2) also got 12 points and seven rebounds from Gage Ontiveros.
Javonte King scored 30 points and snared nine boards to lead Blackfoot (15-11). Ryan Reynolds chipped in 16 points in the loss.
4A Semifinal | Hillcrest 81, Skyview 53
Isaac Davis pumped in 18 points as Hillcrest coasted to an 81-53 victory over Skyview in the 4A semifinal Friday night.
Along with his 18 points, Davis grabbed 20 rebounds to be named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game.
Talan Taylor and Kobe Kesler added 17 and 14 points, respectively, for top-seeded Hillcrest (24-1).
Eloy Chaparro notched 18 points and five rebounds to pace Skyview (19-8), while Jonah Wockenfuss added 13.
4A Consolation Round | Minico 61, Bishop Kelly 58
Brevin Trenkle scored 16 points as Minico rebounded from its first-round loss to advance in the consolation bracket with a 61-58 victory over Bishop Kelly on Friday afternoon.
Ryker Stimpson scored 14 points, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, to earn Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors for Minico (16-10). J.T. Garza also added 13 points.
Bishop Kelly (14-11) was led by Joseph Behrend’s game-high 26 points along with Thomas Lodge and Cooper Cammann, who contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
4A Consolation Round | Twin Falls 40, Lakeland 38
Logan Pittard came alive for 16 points in the second half to lead Twin Falls to a come-from-behind 40-38 victory over Lakeland in the 4A consolation round on Friday.
Pittard, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, was 7-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds for Twin Falls (16-10). Will Preucil contributed 14 points for the Bruins.
Scotty Hocking tallied 17 points to lead Lakeland (6-18).
3A Semifinals | Sugar-Salem 59, Teton 53
Koy Sanderson scored 24 points and the Diggers took control in the second half to knock off Teton 59-53 in the 2A semifinals Friday night.
Sanderson, who took home Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors, also grabbed a game-high 11 boards for Sugar-Salem (22-3). Zac Dougherty contributed 12 points and pulled down eight boards.
Teton (22-7), which survived an overtime game in the first round, was led by Tyson Brown with 16 points and nine rebounds. Brody Hess added 10 points.
3A Semifinals | Bonners Ferry 55, Snake River 54
Asher Williams dumped in 21 points in a back-and-forth affair to push top-seeded Bonners Ferry past Snake River 55-54 in the 3A semifinals Friday night.
Williams was named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game for Bonners Ferry (23-1). Ridge Williams tallied 12 points.
Luke Higginson scored a game-high 29 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, for Snake River (19-6), while Marcus Coombs added 14.
3A Consolation Round | Fruitland 61, Kimberly 56
Luke Barinaga fired in 20 points and dished out four assists as Fruitland knocked off Kimberly 61-56 in the 3A consolation round Friday afternoon.
Fruitland (15-11), which rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit, rebounded for the win with 14 points from Eddie Rodriguez and 11 from Caleb Davis. Barinaga took home Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors for his performance.
Kimberly (9-16) was led by Broden Anthony with 17 points and Jakob Cummins and Kade Larsen with 11 points each.
3A Consolation Round | Buhl 57, Homedale 56
Kyler Kelly hit a jumper with three seconds remaining to lift Buhl over Homedale 57-56 in the 3A consolation round Friday afternoon.
Kelly, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, scored a game-high 23 points for Buhl (10-15). Tate Trevino added 11.
Jaxon Dines scored 13 points to pace Homedale (15-9), while Sigmund Goode and Trenton Fisher added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
2A Semifinals | Melba 62, St. Maries 58
Melba built a 28-4 first-half lead before fending off a pesky St. Maries team 62-58 in the Class 2A semifinals Friday night. It was the third straight season the two teams have clashed in the state tournament.
No. 1-seed Melba will have a chance to defend their state title against No. 2 Bear Lake.
Cache Beus scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Mustangs (25-0) to garner Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors. Cutter Beus scored 15 points, while Tucker Lowber added 14.
Greyson Sands scored a game-high 21 points to lead St. Maries (19-5). Tristun Hill chipped in 14.
2A Semifinals | Bear Lake 53, Kellogg 48
Keaton Carlsen scored 14 points and Bear Lake fended off Kellogg in a tight game from wire to wire to claim a 53-48 victory in the 2A semifinals Friday night.
Carlsen, who grabbed four rebounds and was 2-of-3 shooting from 3-point range, was named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game.
Bryson Crane and Tyler Beresford added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Bear Lake (24-2).
Kellogg (19-8) was led by Kolby Luna with 17 points and three assists.
2A Consolation Round | Cole Valley Christian 52, West Side 45
Cole Valley rallied from eight points down entering the fourth quarter to defeat West Side 52-45 in the 2A consolation round on Friday afternoon.
The Chargers (20-6) outscored West Side 20-5 in the decisive frame.
Ben Beglinger had 14 points and eight boards to pace Cole Valley, while Sam Overton took home Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors with 12 points and three rebounds. Eli Kingery added 10 points.
West Side (13-16) was led by Eli Brown with 16 points and Eli Campbell with 10.
2A Consolation Round | Ririe 60, Declo 40
Ethan Miller scored 20 points to lead Ririe past Declo in the 2A consolation round Friday afternoon.
Miller, who earned Idaho Sports Player of the Game honors, also grabbed five rebounds for Ririe (21-5). Houston Brown added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Declo (13-11) was paced by Deagon Edgar with 12 points and seven rebounds.
1AD1 Semifinals | Lakeside 53, Grace 51
Brutis Sijohn scored 16 points to lead Lakeside to a 53-51 victory over Grace in the 1AD1 semifinals Friday night.
Sijohn, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists to lead Lakeside (16-3) into the title game. Tyson Charley added 13 points.
Grace (21-5) was led by Ty Gilbert with 17 points and Dallon Draper and William Micklelson with 10 points each.
1AD1 Semifinals | Lapwai 64, Castleford 43
Ahlius Yearout racked up 22 points as Lapwai remained undefeated, cruising past Castleford 64-43 in the 1AD1 semifinals Friday night and booking a spot in Saturday’s title game.
Yearout, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, added six rebounds, while Kase Wynott had 16 points and 11 boards for Lapwai (26-0).
Castleford (17-6) was paced offensively by Ethan Roland with 17 points and Gabe Mahannah with 10.
1AD1 Consolation Round | Potlatch 79, Victory Charter 58
Jaxon Vowels helped Potlatch forget about a disappointing first-round loss with 37 points to lead the Loggers to a decisive 79-58 win over Victory Charter in the 1AD1 consolation round on Friday.
Vowels, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for Potlatch (19-7). Jack Clark and Everett Lovell added 18 and 11 points, respectively.
Victory Charter (20-6) was led offensively by Noah Palomares with 19 points and Fikadu Ewing with 15. Cody Luce chipped in 12.
1AD1 Consolation Round | Carey 57, Liberty Charter 41
Carsn Perkes poured in 15 points to lead Carey past Liberty Charter 57-41 in the 1AD1 consolation round on Friday.
Perkes, who was named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, also snagged seven rebounds and dished out six assists for Carey (18-8). Owen Parke contributed 14 and Cris Gamino added 11.
Liberty Charter (18-8) was led by Luke Thomas with 15 points and Luke Starner with 14.
1AD2 Semifinals | Kendrick 58, Rockland 56
Jagger Hewett scored 23 points as Kendrick made a six-point lead entering the fourth quarter stand up to advance to the 1AD2 title game with a 58-56 win over Rockland in the semifinals on Friday.
Hewett, who was named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, also added four assists and five steals for Kendrick (19-3). Nathan Tweit also had 20 points and six rebounds. Ty Koepp led the team in rebounding with 10.
Abraham Held scored 20 for Rockland (22-3), while Brigham Permann added 15 in the loss.
1AD2 Semifinals | Richfield 65, Watersprings 40
Kobyn Benzeval scored 16 points as Richfield used a 30-point second quarter to vault past Watersprings 65-40 in the 1AD2 semifinals Friday and advance to Saturday’s title game.
Benzeval, the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, was also added 13 rebounds and blocked four shots for Richfield (23-4). Luken Dalton led the team in scoring with 21 points, and Jamen Fuchs and Clay Kent added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Ryan Demkowics scored 12 for Watersprings (22-5), and Jrew Plocher had 11.
1AD2 Consolation Round | Cascade 55, Timberline 41
Tyler Thurston tallied 33 points to lead Cascade past Timberline 55-41 Friday night in the 1AD2 consolation round.
Thurston, who was named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, added 10 boards for Cascade (17-7), while Cole Olson had 11.
Timberline (12-12) was led by Parker Brown with 16 points. Gavin Christopherson and Saimone Tuikolovatu had 13 and 12 points, respectively.
1AD2 Consolation Round | Council 71, Clark Fork 44
Porter McLinn scored 30 points to lead Council to a 71-44 win over Clark Fork in the 1AD2 consolation round Friday evening.
Named the Idaho Sports Player of the Game, McLinn added 10 rebounds for Council (19-6). Macen Glenn added 18 points and seven boards.
