BASEBALL
Seth Walton, Bonneville
Walton tossed a no-hitter on Wednesday against Shelley. He finished with 11 strikeouts in the win.
Stanton Howell, Marsh Valley
Howell starred on the mound and at the plate in a doubleheader sweep of Century on Saturday. In the first game, Howell pitched all seven innings. He struck out 15 batters and only allowed one earned run. Howell also collected three base hits in the 10-1 win. Then in the second game, Howell scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly to give Marsh Valley a 3-2 victory.
Dyson Price, Meridian
Price finished with four RBI's in a 10-5 win over Boise on Wednesday. Price had an RBI single followed by a three-run home run.
Tazyn Twiss, Minico
Twiss was a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI's and a triple in Minico's 8-2 win over Canyon Ridge on Tuesday.
John Smith, Wendell
In a doubleheader sweep of Rockland on Wednesday, Smith went a combined 5-for-9 with eight RBI's.
BOYS GOLF
Jett Shaw, Dietrich
Shaw fired a 40 to win the Declo Invitational on Tuesday.
Jameson Harper, Kimberly
Harper carded a score of 72 to edge out his teammate Kyler Kelly by two strokes to win Wednesday's Valley Invitational at 93 Golf Ranch in Jerome. The Bulldogs also won the team title.
BOYS TENNIS
Kyle Garner and Shane Garner, Eagle
The Garner brothers continued their strong play as Eagle's No. 1 doubles team. The duo is 3-0 on the season, and on Thursday they swept Skyview's Ian Lawson and Tanner Lindley 6-0, 6-0.
Austin Swing, Middleton
In a dual against 4A power Bishop Kelly on Tuesday, Swing picked up a win at No. 1 singles against BK's John Mulhern. Swing not only got the victory, but he pitched a shutout (6-0, 6-0).
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
Trayton Nelson, Idaho City
Nelson swept the throwing events at Friday's triangular meet with McCall and Payette. Nelson threw the shotput 52'5" and the discus 145'0". His discus toss is now the top mark in Class 1A. Nelson also bat cleanup for the Wildcats' baseball team.
Taeo Schneider, Jerome
In a quadrangular meet at Minico High on Friday, Schneider set new state-best times in the 100 (10.74) and 200 (21.74).
GIRLS GOLF
Mallory Davids, Marsh Valley
Davids shot a 99 to win Wednesday's Aberdeen Tournament.
GIRLS TENNIS
Gracie Parker and Dresden Reilly, Hillcrest
The Knights' No. 2 doubles team earned a pair of wins against Magic Valley competition Friday. The picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win against Twin Falls followed by a 6-0, 6-2 win over Canyon Ridge. Hillcrest's girls also won both team competitions.
Neva Reseska, Sandpoint
Competing against district rival Moscow for the first time on Wednesday, the freshman cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No.1 singles.
Isabel Jacobs, Twin Falls
Jacobs, competing at No. 1 singles, breezed past Kaybree Higens of Minico 6-0, 6-0 in a dual match on Tuesday.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Liliana Ortiz, Aberdeen
The Aberdeen sophomore swept the hurdles races at Thursday's Beaver-Bulldog Meet in American Falls. Ortiz set personal records in both the 110 hurdles (16.52) and 300 hurdles (51.83). Her 100 meter hurdles time is tops in 2A, while her 300 meter hurdles time is currently 2nd.
Kyla Palmer, Rocky Mountain
The sophomore sizzled at Friday's Triangular Meet with Skyview and Meridian. Palmer finished 1st in the 200 and 400 meter dashes, and ran legs on Rocky's 4x200 and 4x400 meter relay teams (both finished 1st). In the process, Palmer set a new state-best time in the 400 (59.32) and helped the Rocky Mountain 4x400 meter relay team set a new state-best time (4:10.78).
SOFTBALL
Kimber Wieland, Blackfoot
Wieland threw a no-hitter on Wednesday against Skyline in a district contest. She struck out eight batters over four innings of work in the 15-0 win.
Aubrey Gibbons, Glenns Ferry
In a 14-3 win over Garden Valley on Tuesday, Gibbons went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and six RBI's.
Marissa Maugher, Highland
Mauger threw a no-hitter against Century on Wednesday. In five innings of work, Mauger struck out eight batters. She also smacked a home run at the plate.
Lilly Freitas, Priest River
Freitas had quite the game on Tuesday against Troy (MT). In the first inning, she smacked an inside-the-park home run. She finished the game with three hits and four RBI's. She delivered 5 1/3 innings inside the pitcher's circle. And she drew the game-winning bases-loaded walk to give the Spartans a 27-26 win.
Emma Cluff, Rigby
Cluff fired a no-hitter against Madison on Saturday, striking out ten batters over seven innings of work. The Trojans won 9-0.
Sunny Bennion, Sugar-Salem
In a 20-1 win over American Falls on Tuesday, Bennion went 4-for-4 with two triples and seven RBI's.
