Starting August 19th, IdahoSports.com will welcome its new Content Manager/Editor, Brandon Hill.
Originally from Greenleaf, Idaho, Hill attended high school at Vallivue High School in Caldwell, Idaho where he played football and tennis. Hill recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in marketing and a minor in journalism. During his time in Moscow, he worked as a reporter and editor-in-chief for the student-run newspaper, The Argonaut.
Paul Kingsbury, Owner/Managing Editor of IdahoSports.com, said the addition of Hill to the team could not have come at a better time, with the beginning of the high school sports season just around the corner.
"I was very excited when Brandon contacted me to accept the content editor position,” Kingsbury said. “We interviewed quite a few talented people, but his attitude, personality and resume launched him to the top of the list halfway through our first phone call.”
While editor of The Argonaut, Hill implemented an online-first mentality throughout his newsroom, doubling online readership through the course of a year while tackling multiple breaking news stories regarding the University of Idaho administration and athletic department. Hill also spent part of his sophomore year as an online content intern with the Washington Redskins, interviewing players like Vernon Davis, Josh Norman and Kirk Cousins while attending all Washington home games during the 2017 season.
Kingsbury said Hill’s strong reporting background was exactly what he wanted out of IdahoSports.com’s new content editor, as more original features and editorial content will be introduced to readers.
"Brandon is going to help us continue the momentum we started last summer when we introduced more written content to our online coverage,” he said. “Write-ups, blogs, news and feature stories are the future at IdahoSports.com and that future is in very good hands with Brandon leading the way."
In addition to his writing and editing experience with the Washington Redskins and The Argonaut, Hill also brings with him a plethora of other valuable skills to the position. "Brandon's experience and knowledge in regards to online marketing and social media strategy is really going to help us break-through in terms of overall reach, both with the main website and our various social media platforms", Kingsbury added. "Our potential for growth is unlimited".
After accepting the position, Hill said he couldn’t wait to get started, as sports reporting has been his primary passion since his first year at the University of Idaho.
“This job just feels like a perfect fit,” he said. “I’ve lived in Idaho my entire life and am ecstatic to get completely immersed in the high school sports community and tell some great stories.”

“He is coming on board at a very exciting time for the company and is already fitting in seamlessly with the rest of the team,” Kingsbury said. “Brandon Hill is going to quickly become a household name for fans of high school sports in Idaho."
